Justin Timberlake Pays Tribute to Bill Withers: 'One of My Biggest Idols' - 4/4/20

Rolling Stone, 4/4/20 --

Justin Timberlake paid tribute to Bill Withers, "one of my biggest idols," following the death of the legendary soul singer Friday at the age of 81.

"You taught me so much about how to keep it simple and real. I felt such a kinship with you even before we met," Timberlake wrote on Instagram.

"Your words and melodies... the chords that accompanied them... they reached into my soul and spoke to me so deeply. That's what your music did. It brought so many of us closer to you and to each other."

Timberlake has long professed his love of Withers' music, and has previously admitted that his own hit "Can't Stop the Feeling" was inspired by Withers' classic "Lovely Day"; Timberlake played a medley of the two tracks at the 2017 Oscars.

During Timberlake's lengthy hiatus between 2006's FutureSexLoveSounds and 2013's The 20/20 Experience, he spoke about the impact Withers and the documentary Still Bill had on his career. "I've never watched anything else that I felt was someone speaking not just to me but for me. He puts into words exactly how I feel about music," Timberlake told Playboy in 2011.

The two singers also took part in an ASCAP onstage conversation in 2010, and in 2017, Timberlake appeared alongside Withers at a Songwriters Hall of Fame event, as Timberlake alludes to in his Instagram post.

"And, to actually know you was truly something special. You shined a light that was so unique and warm," Timberlake continued. "I looked up to you the same way I looked up to my Poppa... and he was my favorite human in the world. You have always been one of the greatest and will forever be. I will miss your jokes and I will never forget your advice to me about music... 'How does it make you FEEL? That's the only question you have to answer.'"

Swipe over to get a glimpse of the jokester he was. A little backstory: he led a songwriters discussion with Max, Shellback and myself and took the time out to put together a story and made us all think it was from a real bio. Who does that?? 'Trolls World Tour' Clip: Justin Timberlake's Branch Braces For Dance Off; FandangoNOW Taking Rental Pre-Orders For DWA Pic - 4/2/20

Deadline, 4/2/20 --

In what is considered an anomaly in the industry for an on-demand rental title (not sellthrough): Dreamworks Animation/Universal's Trolls World Tour is now available for pre-order on FandangoNOW in advance of the pic's April 10 availability date.

While pre-orders for sell-through titles like Bad Boys for Life are quite common, that's not the case with VOD rental titles.

In addition today, FandangoNOW dropped this special clip from the movie showing Justin Timberlake's Branch troll character encountering two different musical troll tribes.

Originally, Trolls World Tour was expected to take the place of MGM's No Time to Die over the Easter weekend at the box office, but when the COVID-19 climate began to heat up, Uni opted for a 48-hour rental scenario on Trolls World Tour (in addition to playing whatever theaters were open, which are only a handful stateside).

For those who rental Trolls World Tour on FandangoNOW they can rent or buy any of the toons from the DWA library at 50% off regular price. The pre-order offer is valid until April 9, and those who preorder the title can enjoy the DWA film discounts through April 17.

"We're looking forward to working together with DreamWorks Animation on this first-of-its-kind event where housebound film fans can gather around the couch for the highly-anticipated debut of a new movie directly from the studio," says FandangoNOW Head Cameron Douglas. "We're also pleased to offer an extra incentive where families can watch as many DreamWorks Animation movies available on FandangoNOW as they like at a major discount, while getting ready for the April 10 home debut of 'Trolls World Tour.'"

The first Trolls movie in 2016 from DWA earned $346.8M at the global box office and spawned a franchise with consumer products and TV series, plus Timberlake's hit song "Can't Stop the Feeling". That single was dropped six months in advance of the pic's November opening, ultimately going quadruple platinum with over 7.6M units sold in the U.S. as well as setting other records.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake On a Trolls World Tour - 4/2/20

Trolls

Kidzworld, 4/2/20 --

In Trolls World Tour, troll queen Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick) and reclusive Branch (Justin Timberlake) are musically-challenged by six troll tribes world-wide, each believing that their style of music (funk, country, techno, classical, pop or rock) should be adopted by all. Will a giant riff-off war be required to settle the question or can Poppy and Branch convince all to unite and enjoy all types of music?

Anna Kendrick has appeared in many musical movies before; Into the Woods and the Pitch Perfect films to name a few, but she was thrilled to perform music put together by Justin Timberlake, who, in addition to voicing troll Branch, served as Executive Music Producer on the film attracting artists like Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, SZA, James Corden, Icona Pop, Rachel Bloom and George Clinton to join him in song.

Anna and Justin, a fun duo, talk to the press about the upbeat movie's story, their characters, the music, working together and more....

Q: Anna, what is up with Poppy at the beginning of the film?

Anna: At the beginning, Poppy is queen now so she is in a leadership position and she is discovering who she is as a leader. She finds out that there are all these other kinds of trolls in the world and they have all these different styles of music that they have their world view based on. She finds out that there is another queen who wants to take over all the trolls and have the only music in the troll universe be rock music and Poppy and Branch have to go on this really fun adventure and meet all these different kinds of trolls to save all the music obviously.

Q: Justin, tell us about Poppy and Branch going on this adventure.

Justin: Well, there is a difference of opinion (among the trolls) and troll Queen Barbara represents the hard rock trolls. She thinks that the way to save music is to unite everyone by making them all the same style or the same genre of music. So Poppy and Branch go on this crazy adventure to teach Barb that all styles of music should be saved.

Q: Has Poppy and Branch's relationship changed in this film?

Justin: It has changed a little bit. It took the whole first movie to bring Branch out of his shell and help his discover his true colors and now I think he is exploring some feelings with Poppy that he's never really felt before and trying to find a way to tell her.

UPDATED: Harmonies, Heroes and Heroin: New Doc Traces the Story of Doo-Wop - 4/2/20

Rolling Stone, 3/31/20 --

"Harmony, harmony, harmony - no band, no nothing," explains Charlie Thomas of the Drifters in director Brent Wilson's Streetlight Harmonies, a new doc tracing the history of doo-wop (premiering tonight on VOD). Doo-wop could be swoony and romantic, playful and mischievous. It was the sweet-voiced sibling to the insouciant rock & roll being made at the same time, and genre classics like "I Only Have Eyes for You," "In the Still of the Night," "I Wonder Why," "Speedoo," and "Why Must Fools Fall in Love" remade the sound of syncopated pop harmonies the same way Chuck Berry reinvented the guitar.

Yet it's easy to forget that doo-wop emerged from East Coast street culture and the working class; some groups took to singing in stairwells and bathrooms simply because they couldn't afford instruments. Those harmony groups also had their share of troubles involving racism, drug addiction, and music business manipulation. Incorporating interviews with surviving group members and industry experts, Streetlight Harmonies addresses those topics and more; it deepens our understanding of the music's roots, rise, all-conquering pop moment, decline and legacy - the latter courtesy of interviews with Lance Bass of *NSYNC and En Vogue's Cindy Herron and Terry Ellis.

A few sham-lama-fact-dongs we learned along the way:

The era came went and went pretty fast, even by pop trend standards. The arrival of the Beatles in America in 1964 changed music and the culture in countless ways. But when the topic is brought up here, the reaction shots of doo-wop survivors truly convey how devastating that moment was for singers who, just a few years before, were kings and queens of pop. "It was here and it was gone," says Motown songwriting legend Lamont Dozier. While conveying respect for the Beatles, the Flamingos' Johnson admits, with more than a twinge of melancholy, "They killed our music. Our music stopped in its tracks."

But as the film also demonstrates, the legacy of doo-wop continued decades later with *NSYNC, En Vogue, Boyz II Men, and Backstreet Boys. An early clip of *NSYNC singing a cappella makes it even more apparent than they inherited that mantle, at least for a time. As Anthony Gourdine of the Imperials says of modern music, "Still kids writing songs for kids."

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake reacting to unpopular opinions is a glorious watch - 4/1/20

Mashable, 4/1/20 --

BBC Radio One's "Unpopular Opinion" segment has given us many gifts over the years. We've seen Stormzy giving adorable advice to kids, Jake Gyllenhaal growing fiercely defensive of Sean Paul, and John Boyega admitting he really doesn't like Friends.

And now it's Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake's turn. In the video above, the pair must listen to the unpopular opinions of strangers on the radio and respond to them - from "people who drink coffee are weak" to "being short is better than being tall" (for what it's worth, Kendrick agrees with both of those statements).

They also give their own unpopular opinions, and get heavily invested in the theme music (the latter is definitely Timberlake's favourite part of the entire thing).

Joey Fatone

Broadway World, 3/27/20 --

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is bringing the pranks into homes this April Fool's Day with the early digital release of Impractical Jokers: The Movie on April 1, 2020, only five weeks after its successful theatrical debut. The film, an extension of the wildly successful IMPRACTICAL JOKERS series, was directed by Chris Henchy (Daddy's Home, "Eastbound & Down"). A truTV original production and produced by Funny Or Die, Impractical Jokers: The Movie carries a suggested retail price of $19.99 for the Digital ($24.99 in Canada) and is rated PG-13.

"Impractical Jokers raised the stakes bringing their hijinks to the big screen and we couldn't be more proud of their impressive box office debut," said Brett Weitz, General Manager for TNT, TBS, & truTV. "The unwavering support of their fans prove that this comedy franchise continues to provide endless laughs and entertainment that we are pleased to bring into homes."

"Impractical Jokers first premiered on truTV to much fanfare in December 2011 and quickly became a hit, especially among young adults," said Mary Ellen Thomas, WBHE Senior Vice President, Originals, Animation & Family Marketing. "The power of the loyal fanbase has proven the sky's the limit for this comedy franchise, and we are eager to bring home the laughter and antics of their first feature film for the whole family to enjoy."

"For all our wonderful fans who've been requesting, we're happy to announce that Impractical Jokers: The Movie will be available in your homes to watch digitally on April 1st", said The Tenderloins. "Hoping we can provide some laughs to families and friends at a time when we can all surely use some."

Impractical Jokers: The Movie stars James "Murr" Murray, Brian "Q" Quinn, Joe Gatto, and Sal Vulvano, also known as the comedy troupe The Tenderloins, playing themselves in a fictional story of a humiliating high school mishap from the early nineties. Featuring appearances from Paula Abdul, Jaden Smith, and Joey Fatone, the movie combines the fictional narrative with real life footage of over-the-top punishments and callbacks to classic moments from the series. Once the IMPRACTICAL JOKERS hit the road, they compete in hidden camera challenges for the chance to turn back the clock and find redemption.

Impractical Jokers: The Movie is produced by Gatto, Murray, Quinn, Vulcano, Henchy, and Funny Or Die's Jim Ziegler and Buddy Enright. Executive producers include Jack Rovner and Funny Or Die's Mike Farah and Joe Farrell. The IMPRACTICAL JOKERS series has aired eight seasons with over 200 episodes to date and remains a top three original cable comedy series with ratings that continue to grow. New episodes of IMPRACTICAL JOKERS keep truTV in the top 10 ranking among cable networks in primetime.

'F--k, Let's Just Go For It': *NSYNC Video Director Wayne Isham Talks 'Bye Bye Bye' & 'It's Gonna Be Me' Clips - 3/27/20

*NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye video

Billboard, 3/27/20 --

Following our Billboard staff-picked list of the 00 greatest songs of 2000, we're writing this week about some of the stories and trends that defined the year for us. Here, we circle back to *NSYNC's No Strings Attached era one last time, via a frequent collaborator: MTV legend Wayne Isham, who helmed the pop quintet's classic videos for "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me."

"Everybody stepped up big on this one," states Wayne Isham on a cross-country phone call from Los Angeles.

The legendary music video director is reminiscing on "Bye Bye Bye," the 2000 single that lifted *NSYNC out of the bumper-to-bumper jam of pop acts and placed the band a good mile ahead of the traffic. It's been a moment since Isham revisited that eye-popping clip, as well as the one for follow-up "It's Gonna Be Me," a Billboard Hot 100-topper that the famously long-maned Isham also directed -- and he's tripping out over revisiting the potentially perilous stunts and creative freedom that went into crafting these two TRL staples.

"I know that *NSYNC wanted something different and big," says Isham. "And I was definitely different from any of the other boy band stuff."

Indeed, the man and myth that is Wayne Isham had over a dozen iconic visuals on his dance card by the time Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick came calling. His resumé reads basically like a Who's Who and What's What of the artists and imagery that kept viewers glued to MTV in its infancy. And it all started, as Isham explains, with "an animated thing [I'd done] for Rod Stewart with 'Some Guys Have All The Luck'" in 1984.

"There was just a freedom to experiment. Not everything was as result-driven in those days," he says. "You had the freedom to express the music in an artistic fashion. Even in 1999, 2000 -- during that time period -- there was still the freedom to do things, just in a bigger fashion."

*NSYNC's 'No Strings Attached' Shook Up the Sound of Y2K Pop - 3/26/20

*NSYNC

Billboard, 3/26/20 --

Following our Billboard staff-picked list of the 100 greatest songs of 2000, we're writing this week about some of the stories and trends that defined the year for us. Here, another look at *NSYNC's epochal No Strings Attached, and how the album's production and writing represented a sonic shift for all of pop music at the turn of the millennium.

*NSYNC were hardly the first pop act to build an album around the theme of taking control of their career. The Monkees' 1967 album Headquarters arguably invented the subgenre, which reached its creative zenith with Janet Jackson's 1986 breakthrough Control. But *NSYNC took things a step further on 2000's No Strings Attached, making fun of their own image as music industry "puppets" and portraying themselves as literal marionettes, cutting the strings controlling their movements, on the album cover and in the video for lead single "Bye Bye Bye."

The main impetus for the title of No Strings Attached was the group's break with former manager Lou Pearlman, the controversial architect of the '90s boy band explosion who was eventually found guilty of money laundering in 2008, and died in prison in 2016. But the idea that *NSYNC wanted creative control, to choose their musical direction and not simply sing the songs a Svengali figure had assigned them, was the point. And it was the sound of No Strings Attached that set it apart. The album, released 3 months into the new millennium, was a turning point for turn-of-the-century pop.

Before No Strings Attached, none of the major teen pop albums of the era had featured guest rappers or name producers from the R&B world, and virtually every one that came after did. Within the next three years, the teen pop arms race for street cred would culminate in a Christina Aguilera lead single featuring Redman. But for the time being, *NSYNC was still working toward a funkier new direction with Rami Yacoub and Max Martin, the ascendant Swedish pop genius behind their self-titled debut, on "It's Gonna Be Me," the sophomore album's biggest single. No Strings Attached also featured frequent nods to R&B's past and present, including a revamped version of Johnny Kemp's 1988 hit "Just Got Paid" that *NSYNC worked on with New Jack Swing trailblazers Teddy Riley and Aaron Hall.

americanmilitarynews.com, 3/26/20 --

Former Army Ranger and cult figure Mat Best is the latest star to release his own coronavirus quarantine video, but this one features other popular veteran figures and celebrities.

Best paired up with singer-songwriter Tim Montana for the country tune paired with clips of veterans like Rob O'Neill, Marcus Luttrell, and celebrities such as actor Charlie Sheen and singer Chris Kirkpatrick.

Watch the video below:

The song's lyrics reference barren grocery store shelves and out-of-stock toilet paper after stampedes of shoppers before lamenting on quarantine life.

"Quarantine, quarantine / drinking whiskey like vaccine / waving at the neighbors / social distancing," Best and Montana sing together. "Quarantine, quarantine / wearing Lysol like sunscreen / quarantine, quarantine / oh, lonesome quarantine."

The song goes on to refer to hunting and guns, and also issues a message of thanks to healthcare workers fighting coronavirus,

The video features other notable veterans such as Eddie Gallagher, Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, Nick Palmisciano, Omar "Crispy" Avila, Eli "Doubletap" Cuevas, Robert "LunkersTv" Terkla, and Cody "Donut Operator" Garrett.

Singers Granger Smith and Ray Wylie Hubbard, Crossfit athlete Mat Fraser, and social media influencers The Hodge Twins also made appearances.

Best's oldest videos on his YouTube channel date back to 2012, though most of his videos have been released in 2015. He's racked up more than 171 million views on YouTube, and even more than that on Facebook.

The 40 Best Deep Cuts of 2000 - 3/26/20

*NSYNC

Billboard, 3/26/20 --

Following our Billboard staff-picked list of the 100 greatest songs of 2000, we're writing this week about some of the stories and trends that defined the year for us. Here, our staff goes beyond the hits of '00 to look at the deeper cuts that also endure -- the album tracks from the year's best LPs, which prove just as essential as the official singles and radio hits they surrounded 20 years later. Below is a list of our 40 favorites, with a Spotify playlist of all 40 at the very bottom.

2. *NSYNC, "It Makes Me Ill" (No Strings Attached)

While there's really no arguing that classics "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me" were the perfect first two singles for *NSYNC's then-record setting second album No Strings Attached, most fans would argue it's blasphemous that "It Makes Me Ill" is only an album cut. The fiery track introduced a more R&B-inspired style from the pop phenoms - "Ill" was written by TLC's "No Scrubs" co-writers Kevin Briggs and Kandi Burruss; it features a fluttering sound effect reminiscent of Destiny's Child's second Hot 100 No. 1 (and Billboard's top song of 2000) "Say My Name" - which showcased both *NSYNC's growth and audacity to push the boundaries of a traditional boy band sound.

Fortunately "It Makes Me Ill" received some of the recognition it deserved nearly 20 years later, thanks to Ariana Grande, who interpolated its rolling pre-chorus in the bridge of her 2019 single "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" that reached No. 2 on the Hot 100 - hinting that *NSYNC missed an opportunity for a fourth top 5 No Strings Attached hit. -- T.W.

Digital Get Downs, Memes and Y2K's Joyride: *NSYNC's JC Chasez Reflects on 20 Years of 'No Strings Attached' - 3/25/20

Billboard, 3/25/20 --

Following our Billboard staff-picked list of the 100 greatest songs of 2000, we're writing this week about some of the stories and trends that defined the year for us. Here, *NSYNC co-lead vocalist JC Chasez looks back on 20 years of No Strings Attached -- the boy band's sophomore album, which featured Chasez expanding his contributions into songwriting and production, and set a new precedent for cosmic pop dominance.

Y2K's apocalyptic frenzy signaled a shift where pop singers became more defiant in taking risks with digitized sounds -- from Aaliyah going full futuristic acid-rap fusion on "Try Again" to Britney Spears turbo driving her dance-pop into outer space with "Oops!... I Did It Again."

*NSYNC was one of the sonic spaceship's main navigators, thanks to the group's sophomore album, No Strings Attached. The album (which turned 20 on March 21) saw the quintet transitioning from the thumping, Swedish synth-heavy jock jams of 1998's self-titled album to exploring their urban influences. The end result? Millennial interpretations of New Jack Swing, and staccato rap-adjacent flows that were previously made mainstream by Destiny's Child and TLC.

Helping to lead the charge was JC Chasez who, along with fellow *NSYNC lead vocalist Justin Timberlake, earned his first official album credits on No Strings Attached. He stretched his talents to co-write and co-produce four songs, with assistance from songwriter Veit Renn and production duo Riprock 'n' Alex G: "Space Cowboy (Yippie-Yi-Yay)" featuring Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes," "Digital Get Down," "Bringin' da Noise," and the title track.

"From a business standpoint, this is exactly when we became far more involved and took control," Chasez tells Billboard, as *NSYNC had to delay the album's original fall 1999 release due to a messy legal battle with former manager Lou Pearlman. "We always had our opinions about our music and tried to be open-minded. We recorded songs that we don't love and ones that we do, and that's just a part of the experimental process."

Justin Timberlake Says 'We Need to Stick Together' While Social Distancing with His Family - 3/25/20

People, 3/25/20 --

Justin Timberlake is - quite literally - a "Man of the Woods" amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

On Wednesday, the singer, 39, shared a scenic photo to Instagram of wife Jessica Biel and their dog in the middle of a snowy mountain range, where he and the actress, 38, are social distancing (likely with their 4-year-old son, Silas) as the number of coronavirus cases continue to rise in the United States.

"Out here social distancing with the fam and a lot of these I hope you guys are staying safe and healthy," Timberlake captioned the photo. "We need to stick together and look out for each other during this crazy time. Go through my stories for some ways you can support your local communities. While there's a lot of chaos and confusion right now, there's also a lot of good and so many ways to help. Spread the word @feedingamerica @americanredcross @savethechildren @wckitchen."

In his Instagram Stories, Timberlake linked to the donation pages for Feeding America and Save the Children, as well as the websites for American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen. Each of these non-profit organizations have been hard at work responding to the COVID-19 crisis and helping people in need.

Though it's not immediately clear where Timberlake and Biel are social distancing, they could be in Colorado with Biel's family or at their home in Montana.

'It's *NSYNC's World, We Just Live in It': An Oral History of 'No Strings Attached' Selling a Historic 2.4 Million First-Week Copies in 2000 - 3/24/20

*NSYNC

Billboard, 3/24/20 --

Following our Billboard staff-picked list of the 100 greatest songs of 2000, we're writing this week about some of the stories and trends that defined the year for us. Here, we flash back to late March of that year, when one of the biggest groups in pop music released their much-anticipated sophomore album -- and set a record-breaking mark for runaway success that stood for 15 years to come.

Twenty years ago, pop heartthrobs *NSYNC set an industry standard with their sophomore album, No Strings Attached. The LP sold a whopping 2.4 million copies in its first week in March 2000, doubling the record their boy band contemporaries the Backstreet Boys had set the year before with their own blockbuster sophomore effort, Millennium.

For *NSYNC, the timing of their second full-length release couldn't have seemed more perfect: Big pop acts were beginning to take over the music industry, with the prior few years seeing the rise of boy bands, as well as teenage darlings Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. CD sales were at an all-time high, as artists of all genres (Dixie Chicks, Kid Rock, Santana) were reaching diamond status around the turn of the century; meanwhile, MTV's Total Request Live was at its peak, giving those young stars a platform to connect with fans (and promote the hell out of whatever project was coming next).

But while the scene was set for *NSYNC, the new millennium marked a period of uncertainty for the group, as they were coming off of a highly publicized legal battle with their initial label, Trans Continental/RCA Records, and now-disgraced mogul Lou Pearlman. The fivesome -- Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake -- sued Pearlman for defrauding, nearly losing their group name (and $150 million) before a judge ruled in their favor in November 1999. The decision allowed *NSYNC to sign with Jive Records, an independent label that was home to Spears and, ironically, the Backstreet Boys.

Though the signing may have felt risky to fans, it was actually the smartest move *NSYNC could've made. They were now with the label that knew exactly how to market a huge pop album in a landscape where the audience was clearly ready for more. The *NSYNC guys weren't sure what their fan base was going to look like post-legal battle and signing with their "rival" label, but those at Jive knew the magic they had with No Strings Attached.

The Best, Worst, and Most Questionable of *NSYNC, According to Lance and Chris - 3/24/20

*NSYNC

vulture.com, 3/24/20 --

Twenty years ago this month, *NSYNC released their history-making second album No Strings Attached. On its cover Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Lance Bass appeared as five puppets on strings, but at the time, the group was at the peak of its cultural control. They shifted 2.4 million copies of the album in its first week of sales alone (a record only since topped by Adele, 15 years later) and surpassed any other album released in the year 2000. It heralded their split from their disgraced former manager Lou Pearlman, and with its forward-thinking mix of funk, R&B, and electronic-pop, secured their standing as one of the biggest boybands to ever exist. Frontloaded with their signature hit "Bye Bye Bye" and the meme-inspiring "It's Gonna Be Me," the fivesome created memorable videos, choreography, and outfits to match the bombast of the songs. To celebrate the milestone anniversary, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick reminisced with Vulture about their halcyon days making dirty pop, picking the best and worst and most and least of *NSYNC.

Best *NSYNC Song

Lance Bass: My favorite has always been "It Makes Me Ill." Kandi Burruss wrote it and I freaking love her. [Ed. note: Ariana Grande last year interpolated the song on "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored"; Bass, Kirkpatrick, Chasez, and Fatone joined her onstage at Coachella 2019]. I knew the Ariana sample was happening because we have to approve them. We just had no idea what it was gonna sound like. It was so sexy. The fact she used a sample from my favorite song makes me love her even more!

Chris Kirkpatrick: "It's Gonna Be Me." Once we got to perform the song and rehearse choreography it was so much fun to do. The music video was all crazy puppetry. Nine hours of makeup. It was a 24-hour shoot and we didn't sleep. It's funny that "it's gonna be May" caught on so much because when Justin was doing it, the producer was like, 'Yeah I need you to say it more like mayyyy, like a meaner "me."

Worst *NSYNC Song

Lance: Ah there's so many contenders! When you first start out as a new band, especially when you're teenagers, you don't know what your sound is yet. We were an acapella group so the only sound we knew we loved was Boyz II Men or Az Yet. We were just playing around with different styles and songs we thought would be cool. We played around with a little techno in the late '90s and it was never good. There was a song called "I Need Love" ["I need love, you need love, we all need love"]. We performed it on our first tour and I never felt right singing it. I don't even think it made it to the first American album.

Chris: There's a song called "Riddle" that's absolutely horrible. It was on the European album - this big European dance song. We did it for the record label, not for us. It didn't sit well with us. It had no harmonies. Nah.

As *NSYNC's 'No Strings Attached' Turns 20, Execs and Collaborators Look Back - 3/24/20

*NSYNC

Variety, 3/24/20 --

Justin Timberlake was barely 16 when he walked into Cheiron Studios in Stockholm, Sweden in 1996. The aspiring star was recording *NSYNC's breakout single, "Tearin' Up My Heart," in the same room where songwriting legend Max Martin and the late Denniz Pop created some of pop music's biggest hits. At the time, Andreas Carlsson - who would later help pen chart-toppers like *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" and the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" - was pursuing his own singing dreams, recording a solo record in the room next door.

"Justin Timberlake would pop in and I remember the first time we met, he said, 'I want to do stuff that sounds like your music,' which I thought was very sweet," Carlsson recalls. "I said, 'I think you're doing fine already!'"

While Timberlake's talent was clear to Carlsson early on, it was once he became involved in the band's sophomore album, 2000's "No Strings Attached," when he realized the teen's true potential. "There are stars, then there are stars," Carlsson says. "The way Justin saw himself from a very early age was something I'd never experienced before. There was the athletic side, the politician, the incredible performer. He had this self-control that was very unusual for a young person. He was a bright shining star in every way possible - a master at everything he was doing. ... I remember when we did 'No Strings Attached,' I said 'That guy could run for president one day.' He was enormously-driven, very gifted and had something very special about him. I felt that same thing with Jon Bon Jovi - that they're more than just artists and have political qualities and the kind of drive you find in an athlete."

Record executives weren't necessarily looking for a solo star at the time, but Timberlake's potential was apparent to Jive Records founder Clive Calder, when he and the label's then-CEO, Barry Weiss, set out to sign the quintet (Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick) as they became free agents.

Having become suspicious of the group's founder and manager, Lou Pearlman, whose shady financial dealings would be exposed in the coming years and result in prison time before his death in 2016, both *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys were embroiled in a 1999 legal battle with the mogul, the latter forced to cut him in on a portion of BSB's earnings. *NSYNC were able to break free of Pearlman's contractual clutches and sever their recording deal with RCA Records. But Weiss says that regardless of the lawsuit, Timberlake was planning to nullify his contract upon turning 18.

Did Lance Bass' Astronaut And Acting Aspirations Break Up *NSYNC? - 3/24/20

*NSYNC

ET Canada, 3/24/20 --

Twenty years ago, their three-time Grammy-nominated sophomore record No Strings Attached smashed sales records, moving a phenomenal 2.4 million units in its first week. And while the success was swiftly followed up with 2001's Celebrity, shortly after that record's tour, an emotional earthquake hit the boy band loving world when the group announced a hiatus in 2002.

While the break was never intended to evolve into a long-term split, ultimately, it parted Lance Bass, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez professionally for good. In the years since, many have blamed Timberlake's pursual of a solo career for the disbandment, however several other factors played a part, according to many close to the band.

ET Canada talked to musicians and executives who worked with the boy band about what might have really been to blame for the split, then put the theories to Bass, who dished on how his projects outside of the group, struggles with his sexuality, and Timberlake's solo career impacted the fivesome.

For musician Alex Greggs, who co-wrote and produced several NSA tracks and lived with Chasez, the hiatus and any subsequent solo aspirations were kicked into higher gear when Bass announced he needed time off for a space mission.

"People think Justin was like, 'That's it, I'm done. I'm the one everyone's looking at so I'm going off on my own,' but it was quite the opposite because not once had JC or Justin ever asked me about doing other songs," Greggs says. "There was never any hint of [solo music] until Lance came into the room and said, 'I'm going into space, so we'll need a year off.' I'm sure it was on Justin's and JC's minds though because as soon as Lance said it, that night, they were like, 'I have some ideas I'd love to put on tape.'"

The moment proved a "fork in the road" for Greggs. He says after promising Chasez he would dedicate his spare time to helping him lay down the tracks he had brewing in his head, he was then approached by Timberlake with a similar request.

The 100 Greatest Songs of 2000: Staff Picks - 3/23/20

*NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye video

Billboard, 3/23/20 --

If you entered 2000 thinking that the year would bring a totally different sound befitting the turn of a new millennium... well, you were mostly right.

Not that the artists that defined popular music at the end of the '90s were suddenly spirited away and replaced with an entirely new vanguard: Most of the biggest artists of 1999 -- the boy bands and girl groups, the breakout rappers and rock best-sellers -- were the biggest artists of 2000, too. But they seemed energized by the changeover of millennia, and motivated to push things appropriately forward.

With *NSYNC's No Strings Attached, a standard-setting 2000 pop release both in its cutting-edge production and its record-breaking commercial performance, celebrating its 20th anniversary -- and most of us needing no excuse to take a vacation from the world in 2020 -- Billboard decided the time was right for a week's celebration of the year 2000. We're starting today with a list of our 100 favorite songs from the historically rich year, and will continue all week with a series of essays, interviews, lists and other flashbacks to the beginning of the new millennium.

18. *NSYNC, "It's Gonna Be Me" (No. 1, Hot 100)

The second single from *NSYNC's No Strings Attached, "It's Gonna Be Me" further ushered in the group's era of attitude. A Max Martin co-penned classic -- though production was handled solo by his oft-overlooked collaborator Rami Yacoub -- the track encourages realizing your worth and refusing to get pushed aside. When it comes to pop culture, it's the epitome of a song that endures: As long as millennials are around, there won't come an April 30th when Justin Timberlake is not plastered across the internet singing "It's gonna be MAY." If meme clout isn't enough for you, put some respect on its name anyway: "It's Gonna Be Me" was the only *NSYNC song to ever hit No. 1 on the Hot 100. -- B. Kaminsky

2. *NSYNC, "Bye Bye Bye" (No. 4, Hot 100)

There's no better way to say hello to a brand-new era than by saying "bye bye bye" to the past. This super-powered pop smash was the first single from *NSYNC's landmark sophomore album No Strings Attached, on which the blockbuster boy band very publicly cut ties with their unscrupulous creator, late music and blimp impresario Lou Pearlman, to finally get their fair share of the pop pie. Of course, it's tough to make a fun hit song out of shady business dealings with your boss, so the lyrics instead address a toxic romantic relationship -- though lines like "life would be much better once you're gone" and "I don't want to be the loser and I've had enough" could easily go both ways.

The thing that endures about the song is that repetitive earworm of a chorus -- "It ain't no lie/ Baby, bye, bye, bye" -- and its accompanying triple-hop dance, made famous in the quintet's iconic big-budget music video. You might be surprised to learn that "Bye Bye Bye" topped out at No. 4 on the Hot 100, but the video -- with its metaphorical marionette-puppet choreography -- dominated the No. 1 spot on MTV's Total Request Live for 25 consecutive days. No Strings Attached went on to sell 2.4 million copies in its first week -- a record-setting achievement that lasted 15 years, until Adele's 25 came along -- and it all started with this undeniable lead single. -- K.A.

Comedians Join Forces to Parody Gal Gadot's Star-Studded 'Imagine' Video: 'Imagine There's No Keto...' - 3/22/20

TheWrap, 3/21/20 --

Josh Wolf and a host of other comedians used their coronavirus quarantining downtime to create a parody video of Gal Gadot's instantly-viral "Imagine" video.

The clip - featuring Jeffrey Ross, Sarah Colonna, Jon Ryan, Joey Fatone, Sinbad and Brittany Furlan, among others - starts out, "Imagine there's no keto / you have to eat mostly carbs / I bought up all of the Purell / just to wash my car."

The rest of the lyrics make references to other hobbies and escapes enjoyed primarily by the wealthy, like dodging urban quarantines by heading to vacation homes or "only" having three cars. When Gadot posted her star-studded version of John Lennon's "Imagine" Wednesday, one of the immediate criticisms was that it was tone-deaf for featuring rich celebrities who are quarantining in their large homes, recording themselves singing instead of making donations to relief efforts.

"Hey guys, day 6 in self-quarantine, and I gotta say the past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical," Gadot said when she posted the video earlier in the week. "You know this virus has affected the entire world, everyone. Doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, we're all in this together."

Avery Pearson, one of the comedians in Saturday's parody, mirrored that language when he posted the latest video: "We are all in this together," he quipped.

*NSYNC's 'No Strings Attached' 20th-Anniversary Merch Line Will Transport You to Y2K - 3/21/20

Billboard, 3/20/20 --

The year 2000 was overwhelmingly riddled with classic pop albums, and the one that many pop purists find themselves revisiting is *NSYNC's No Strings Attached.

In celebration of the album's 20th anniversary, the iconic boy band has once again partnered with Epic Rights for a merch collection that will bring longtime fans right back to the turn of the millennium.

The collection (which follows the band's Dirty Pop-Up Shop in Los Angeles in 2018) is filled with various clothing and household items that feature designs from the No Strings Attached album, as well as nods to song titles.

"To celebrate this 20th anniversary, we worked in close collaboration with the band to ensure authenticity that reflects this incredible legacy," Epic Rights exclusively tells Billboard. "Our focus was to bring out small details from the album that fans may have forgotten about, while also sharing a new point of view that pays homage to the early 2000's."

Highlights from the collection include: a limited-edition reissue of the original record on picture disc vinyl ($25), a "Just Shake It" snow globe pencil holder ($15), a pink-and-white tie-dye tour shirt ($35), a "Bye Bye Bye" hoodie (55), a 20th-anniversary pin set ($30), a pair of "Say I'm Trippin'" bright purple socks emblazoned with a clown design lifted from the original album art ($20) and a No Strings Attached Personalized RIAA Certification Plaque where fans can have their name engraved ($280).

Those eager to purchase can do so when the collection officially launches Saturday at 10 a.m. ET on *NSYNC's official website. The merch will begin shipping April 20, while the vinyl reissue is set for July 17.

*NSYNC's No Strings Attached -- released on March 21, 2000 -- debuted atop the Billboard 200, selling a million copies in the first day. The album later made pop music history, selling a then-record-setting 2.4 million copies in its first week -- a record that was broken 15 years later with Adele's 25 in 2015. It birthed four singles: "Bye Bye Bye," "This I Promise You," "I'll Never Stop" and "It's Gonna Be Me," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks.

You can't erase the past, says Justin Timberlake, only improve the future - 3/21/20

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

Daily Mail, 3/20/20 --

As birthday greetings go, it was ambiguous to say the least. 'Happy birthday to the most timeless man I know,' was actress Jessica Biel's Instagram post to her husband of eight years, Justin Timberlake, who turned 39 in January.

'You somehow grow up without growing old.'

For most couples, this could be read as a harmless compliment. For Jessica and Justin, however, there was something more subtle going on.

Just two months earlier, in November, Justin had been photographed at a bar in New Orleans more than a little the worse for wear, not wearing his wedding ring and holding hands with someone he was most certainly not married to - actress Alisha Wainwright, his beautiful co-star in the new sports drama Palmer, which was being filmed in the city.

When I meet Justin in the DreamWorks Animation studio in Hollywood where he's promoting another new film, Trolls World Tour, he's understandably reluctant to go into detail about the state of his marriage.

But he does admit that the road to maturity in marriage can be a winding one.

'I don't have any secret for growing up except to continue to try to do my best,' he says, a little ruefully.

'There's always something to learn, and you have to realise that you have a footprint and you can't go back and erase it. But you can improve the next path, and that's all you can really do.'

He and Jessica got together through a mutual friend in 2007, and he has said from the beginning that their marriage is grounded in real life, not Hollywood glamour.

*NSYNC's 'No Strings Attached' Turns 20: How Destiny's Child, Heartache & Lawsuit Fueled the Album - 3/20/20

No Strings Attached

Entertainment Tonight, 3/20/20 --

In 2000, amid the peak of boy band pandemonium, anticipation for *NSYNC's sophomore record surged after the group shook off a grueling legal battle against their founder and manager, Lou Pearlman, cut the metaphorical strings he had over them and hunkered down to produce the highly anticipated follow-up to their 1997 self-titled debut. The result was No Strings Attached, which was released by Jive Records on March 21, 2000.

Featuring the hit singles "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me," Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass' sophomore effort sold 2.4 million records in the first week before going on to sell over 11 million copies, becoming Billboard's top album of the decade, spawning undying memes and landing a permanent place in pop culture history.

For Bass, the "craziness in our life" that was the No Strings Attached era remains somewhat of a blur. It's only in recent days while recording interviews with his bandmates -- yes, including Timberlake -- for his podcast, The Daily Popcast With Lance Bass, that key memories have flooded back.

"None of us knew that was going to be the album of our lifetime," Bass, 40, tells ET. "It's been fun going down memory lane because [there are] so many stories we just forgot. When you're in the middle of it, you don't know what's going on -- you're just so busy doing what you've got to do that you don't see what's really happening."

For the group's collaborators, including producer Andreas Carlsson, No Strings Attached marked a special era in pop music. Yet while the period churned out hit after hit, few fathomed how much people would still be talking about this particular album two decades later.

"It's interesting with songs that everyone around the world knows, how easily they came together on a couch in Stockholm or Key West," Carlsson says. In addition to co-writing the album's two biggest songs, the Swedish producer also worked with Max Martin and his Cheiron Studios team on many *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears records.

The Future According To *NSYNC: 20 Years Of 'No Strings Attached' - 3/20/20

*NSYNC

NPR, 3/20/20 --

When the 20th century came to a close, the music industry was booming, lucrative in ways previously unimaginable. Sales were the best the business had ever seen, with new releases averaging $18.52 at the peak of the CD era. Young people's purchasing power was matched with a measure of political power in MTV's Total Request Live, an outlet to vote for their favorite artists and have their picks ritualistically blasted into their living rooms every afternoon after school. And on any given day, you could safely assume that one of a half-dozen teen pop artists was dominating the conversation.

In 1999, the Backstreet Boys' Millennium set an all-time record for first-week sales, with 1.13 million records moved. Britney Spears beat that figure the following spring, with 1.3 million copies of Oops!...I Did It Again in its first week. Those are impressive numbers, but they're nothing compared to *NSYNC. When the boy band's sophomore LP, No Strings Attached, dropped on March 21, 2000, it sold 1.2 million units its first day. By the end of the week, that number had doubled to 2.4 million, a bar that no artist in any genre would clear for 15 years. And then, barely two years later, it was all over.

Twenty years removed, the popular narrative around No Strings Attached goes something like this: *NSYNC burned bright and fast, one of the last artists to benefit so greatly from the industry bubble before its spectacular burst. As post-9/11 audiences embraced edgier sounds and internet accessibility collapsed the power of the industry establishment, not only were the teen idols of the moment nudged aside, but pop began to unravel as a category - its sounds becoming hybridized and democratized beyond recognition. *NSYNC's de facto frontman, Justin Timberlake, seemed to sense the change in the air early; his 2002 solo debut, Justified, landed in a pop landscape that its super-producers The Neptunes had already begun to shape in their own image. As for boy bands, they would be off the radar until the boys of One Direction, almost the spiritual opposite of *NSYNC, stumbled onto The X Factor a decade later.

No Strings Attached is so often invoked as a point on a fraught economic timeline that it's easy to forget you can listen to it, too. But when seen for its substance - its forward-thinking production, its genre-expanding collaborations, the videos and choreography that made it as much a visual presentation as an audio one - it tells a much more rewarding story than what the numbers show. In a time when most pop albums were stuffed with filler to pad out killer radio singles, No Strings Attached was overflowing with ambitious ideas and hinted at where pop music, and pop culture, were headed.

Chris Kirkpatrick interviews Lance Bass on 'The Daily Popcast' - 3/19/20

Spend your quarantine time with *NSYNC via podcast: "Everyone is healthy," says Lance - 3/19/20

*NSYNC

ABC News Radio, 3/19/20 --

Why not spend your free time in quarantine with the members of *NSYNC?

This Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the group's era-defining album No Strings Attached, so Lance Bass has been interviewing all his bandmates -- yes, even Justin Timberlake -- about it for his podcast, The Daily Popcast. He's been posting a new installment each day.

"The guys and I have been doing well," Lance tells ABC Audio. "I've gotten to see most of them all week...everyone is healthy and fine...and staying away from many people!"

As for the interviews, Lance says they're a must-listen for any fan.

"This is the first time you've heard the guys talk about *NSYNC in such a long form," he says. "Some of these interviews go an hour-and-a-half! You really get deep with what their thoughts were during this era."

"I learned a lot of stuff. I really did!" he adds. "A lot of my memories were fogged and they really help paint a picture for me and vice versa...so we were all swapping stories and trying to figure out what was real and what wasn't."

Lance says he asked Justin, Chris, J.C. and Joey about a possible reunion, but teases that you'll have to listen to find out what they said.

Meanwhile, Lance says the COVID-19 pandemic has put the kibosh on his latest business venture: a line of mixers called Just Add X, which he had planned to pre-release on May 4.

"Of course, everyone is practicing social distancing right now. So we're just gonna go online at first because no one's going to bars right now," he laughs.

"So we're hoping to provide you some nice-tasting drinks, [while] everyone is quarantined!"

Biel also said she was doing "nothing."

"Alright, well I'll talk to you later," DeGeneres said.

Timberlake ended the call telling the talk show host to "Call me in an hour."

*NSYNC's Lance Bass: 'Social media could've killed our career' - 3/19/20

*NSYNC

Yahoo, 3/19/20 --

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the landmark *NSYNC album No Strings Attached, and speculation has run rampant regarding a possible full-fledged reunion ever since the beloved boy band (minus Justin Timberlake) joined Ariana Grande onstage during her headlining Coachella set last year. Twitter exploded that evening - but *NSYNC's Lance Bass tells Yahoo Entertainment he is very glad that Twitter didn't exist in the year 2000.

"I am so glad we had no social media!" he laughs. "Well, on the one hand, it would be nice to have 100 million followers, right? And being able to just talk to your fans so quickly. But on the other hand, who knows what would've happened? You know, at the beginning of social media we were just dumb kids.

"So the stupid things you might say, or someone might take a picture of you drinking at a club and you're underage - I mean, that could have ruined your career back then. It was a different time.

"So who knows? Social media could've killed our career."

There's a disturbing side to social media, with some toxic fandoms, so Bass is glad that in the pre-Instagram age, he was oblivious to a lot of that. "[Fan behaviour] can be dark. Because a lot of people see the positive things of being in a group like [*NSYNC], but when you're at a level like that, there's a lot of people coming after you and a lot of things that we weren't privy to at all - which was a good thing," he says. "You know, our bodyguards kind of kept a lot of the information away from us. But in hindsight, looking back and knowing some of the stories that were happening around us, it's a scary world. There's a lot of scary things that were happening around us that we never let anyone know, and it was very dangerous. But our security is amazing and it's great, but there's some really horrible people out there."

But there is an upbeat side to *NSYNC mania, which will be explored in Bass's upcoming film. TriStar Pictures recently acquired the as-yet-untitled project, which is being produced by Bass's eponymous company along with Cindy Cowan of Cindy Cowan Entertainment. The scripted buddy comedy is based on the stranger-than-fiction story of two crazy college-age fans who, determined to follow *NSYNC's entire 2001 Pop Odyssey summer tour, won a Winnebago on The Price Is Right and made their dream happen.

Lance Bass Reveals He Lost a Baby Boy at 8 Weeks After 9 IVF Tries - 3/18/20

Lance Bass and Michael Turchin

Entertainment Tonight, 3/18/20 --

After eight attempts to start a family via surrogacy, Lance Bass and husband Michael Turchin finally heard the news they had longed for last August -- egg donor number nine had been successful.

Thrilled to learn they had a baby boy on the way, Bass, 40, immediately started conjuring up images of the child's appearance, upbringing and even wedding day. However, the couple's joy came to a blinding halt after they received word that they had lost the baby eight weeks into their surrogate's pregnancy.

"We unfortunately lost him after eight weeks, which happens to pretty much everyone when you're going through IVF," Bass tells ET. "I didn't even know that as we were going through this, but we've met so many great couples who have the same story. So, you do feel a lot of support knowing other people have gone through it."

Growing up in Mississippi, Bass dreamed of being a dad from a young age, but later feared his sexuality might prohibit his fatherhood hopes. Tying the knot with artist Turchin in 2014, the couple has relentlessly pursued parenthood, with Bass openly sharing their journey with ET. He admits their latest attempt was somewhat more trying given that it was the first time their surrogate had successfully become pregnant -- which inevitably led to imagining a future with his son.

"You try to trick yourself into not getting excited because you know anything can happen at any time, especially in those first few weeks when there's a huge possibility that the [embryos] won't stick," Bass says. "You keep telling yourself that and trying not to get your hopes up, but you're always going to have those thoughts in the back of your brain where you're already planning out their lives. Especially once you know the sex -- you can't help but fast-forward over their entire lives and imagine who they're going to be like, who they might marry and all kinds of stuff."

Universal to Make 'Trolls World Tour,' 'The Hunt,' 'Invisible Man' Available Early on Home Entertainment - 3/16/20

Justin Timberlake and Trolls' Branch

Variety, 3/16/20 --

With movie theaters closing or reducing seating capacity due to coronavirus, Universal Pictures will make its movies available on home entertainment on the same day as the films' global theatrical releases.

The initiative will kick off with DreamWorks Animation's "Trolls World Tour," which is scheduled to debut on April 10 in the U.S. The company will also make films that are currently in theaters available on-demand starting as early as Friday, March 20. These films include the horror movies "The Hunt" and "The Invisible Man," as well as "Emma," an adaptation of Jane Austen's novel from Focus, Universal's specialty label.

The films will be available for a 48-hour rental period at a suggested retail price of $19.99 in the U.S. and for roughly the same price in international markets. The announcement is a blow to movie theaters, which have long resisted any attempts to shorten the amount of time that movies are available exclusively on the big screen.

"Universal Pictures has a broad and diverse range of movies with 2020 being no exception. Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenged distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable," NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell said in a statement. "We hope and believe that people will still go to the movies in theaters where available, but we understand that for people in different areas of the world that is increasingly becoming less possible."

"Trolls World Tour" is the latest tentpole to shake up its release plans as Hollywood grapples with coronavirus. Last week, Universal pushed "Fast and Furious" installment "F9" back a year, while Paramount's "A Quiet Place 2," Disney's "Mulan" and MGM's James Bond movie "No Time to Die' were indefinitely shelved.

The move by Universal to release "Trolls World Tour" on digital comes after the domestic box office plummeted to a two-decade low last weekend. In light of concerns about coronavirus, movie theater chains limited the amount of tickets sold in individual auditoriums to avoid crowding and increased sanitation efforts.

Is an *NSYNC Reunion Any Closer to Reality? 'We've Been Talking,' Says Lance Bass - 3/16/20

Trolls

Variety, 3/16/20 --

What does Justin Timberlake really think about an *NSYNC reunion? And would JC Chasez consider taking the group on the road without him? Those were two burning questions posed by fans on "The Daily Popcast with Lance Bass," airing this week - and sort of answered.

A return to the *NSYNC original lineup - Timberlake, Chasez, Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone - would be the ideal way to mark 20 years since "No Strings Attached" was released, selling over 2.4 million copies in its first week, a record for the time.

"We've been talking about it," Bass tells Variety. "No plans have been made. If there will even be plans, who knows? ... I think if we did anything, it would be for the fun of it - the world needs something fun to listen to and I think we could bring some positivity to it. That's what we need right now. It could be something simple to test it out, and if it works, it works and if it doesn't, it doesn't."

Bass, 40, says fans will get clearer answers on where the group stands on the idea when he releases his interviews, one day at a time starting today. One member will also interview Bass for Friday's edition of the Popcast, while Saturday's anniversary special features co-hosts Peachy Keen (Jess Keener) and Giggles (Lisa Delcampo) asking the singers "hilarious" rapid-fire questions.

"I've done Joey and JC so far and they're very different interviews," Bass adds. "JC's the hardest to nail down and more mysterious, so it was interesting to get into his head. You'll definitely hear his opinion on the reunion and if it'll happen."

Bass is also thrilled about getting a rare insight into Timberlake's thoughts on topics the two have "never discussed" in their 25-year friendship. "He's the only [bandmate] I haven't interviewed before, so I'm super-excited to delve into what his life's like now, talk about 'No Strings Attached and that era, ask what that [solo] transition was like and get his opinions on the future of *NSYNC," says Bass. "I want to pull the curtain back and show you who Justin is - who my best friend was years ago. He was 14 years-old when I met him. A bond that's incredible. We experienced things most people didn't go through and I love the juxtaposition of what we were then to now, and how we've all grown into who we grew into ... it's all because we influenced each other at such a young age."

You'll Never Guess Who Justin Timberlake Is Teaming Up With in the Studio - 3/13/20

Justin Timberlake

Billboard, 3/13/20 --

Justin Timberlake's been very busy in the studio lately, he tells Apple Music's Zane Lowe, and his A-list entourage has been pivotal in making his exciting new sound "a moving target" he can't exactly pinpoint.

JT's affinity for R&B has been further cemented in his recent Trolls World Tour collaborations with SZA ("The Other Side") and Anderson .Paak ("Don't Slack"), so reuniting with his longtime collaborator Timbaland for his upcoming solo project checks out, as Lowe correctly guessed.

"But I'm working with some new cats too, man," Timberlake told him during the New Music Daily interview. "Well, I got in with Kaytranada the other day."

The Haitian-Canadian DJ/producer once remixed Timberlake's No. 3 Billboard Hot 100 hit "Cry Me a River," and now the two have officially connected in the studio with Timberlake's frequent producers Danja and Rob Knox.

As the Apple Music host pinned Timbaland, Kaytranada and The Neptunes as "three points on a triangle," the "Mirrors" singer reflected, "If you take [J] Dilla and Madlib and Neptunes and Timbaland, and that's Kaytranada.... He's birthed because of those people who were birthed."

Finally, the 39-year-old hitmaker teased one more star he's been working with in the studio: prolific hip-hop producer Hit-Boy. "It's first time. We're going to go back in soon," he told Lowe. "Honestly, I'm telling you, I'm in the zone where I just want to work. If you're out there and you want to work, I'm available."

From Justin Timberlake and SZA to Mary J. Blige: The Trolls: World Tour Soundtrack Has Dropped - 3/13/20

Justin Timberlake and Trolls' Branch

People, 3/13/20 --

The original motion picture soundtrack for the hit movie Trolls: World Tour is officially here and it's sure to get fans dancing.

The highly anticipated 19-track album which dropped Friday includes Justin Timberlake and SZA's hit single "The Other Side."

Plus, the soundtrack features plenty more exciting artist collaborations. Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, Ester Dean, Icona Pop, Kenan Thompson and the Pop Trolls all teamed up for the track "Trolls Wanna Have Good Times." As the name suggests, the high energy song is a spin-off of Cyndi Lauper's all-time fan favorite, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." The upbeat sound is very reminiscent of the original hit.

In another fun collaboration, Anderson .Paak joins Timberlake for the tune "Don't Slack." "Okay now don't slack / I need all my racks / No we don't hold back / Act like you know that," Paak sings in the catchy chorus.

The same duo teamed up with Mary J. Blige and George Clinton for the melodic track "It's All Love."

"First it was all love / Hands up superstar love / That you can have it, you can have it all love / But then you took it / Took it all love, all love," Timberlake sings in the smooth jam's chorus.

In his own rendition of Daft Punk's hit song "One More Time," Anthony Ramos cranks the Trolls: World Tour soundtrack edition over a slightly faster beat. He sings the same lyrics as the original the track is named after: "One more time / we're gonna celebrate / Oh yeah, alright, don't stop the dancing."

Another exciting mix on the soundtrack is "Trolls 2 Many Hits Mashup" featuring Kendrick, Timberlake, Corden, Icona Pop and the Pop Trolls. What makes this tune a standout is its unique remixing of popular songs including Spice Girls' "Wannabe," Baha Men's "Who Let the Dogs Out, "LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" and PSY's "Gangnam Style."

#TrollingForGood promotes spreading positivity for a good cause - 3/12/20

wkyc.com, 3/12/20 --

In Northeast Ohio and across the US, #TrollingForGood was trending online on Thursday as people shared compliments with one another.

The hashtag was promoted by the upcoming DreamWorks Trolls movie, 'Trolls World Tour,' in an effort to spread positivity, which is the exact opposite of what we usually think of when we hear the word "trolling."

The creators of the movie announced on Wednesday that for every compliment shared using the hashtag, the people behind the film would donate $1 to a children's music organization, up to a total donation of $50,000.

The Trolls movie account kicked things off, sharing the love for Justin Timberlake, who voices the character of Branch in the film, and Kelly Clarkson, the voice of Delta Dawn.

"We love @jtimberlake and we can't stop the feeling! #TrollingForGood," the post read.

Timberlake paid it forward by sharing kind words for Ellen DeGeneres, tagging her show's Twitter account and writing: '. @TheEllenShow you're the kindest, sweetest, most generous, and most love-spreading. ALSO, you got moves.'

Compliments flooded the internet as the hashtag caught on, with some focusing on the population in general.

Aside from everyone on the receiving end of the nice thoughts, the group standing to benefit financially from all of this is Little Kids Rock.

It's a New Jersey-based organization aimed at "transforming lives by restoring, expanding, and innovating music education in K-12 schools in the US," according to the group's Twitter profile.

The first 50,000 tweets including a compliment for someone else and the hashtag, shared between now and April 10, will count towards the total donation made to Little Kids Rock.

Trolls World Tour premieres on April 10 in theaters in the US.

Justin Timberlake Explains How He Once 'Accidentally Broke Into Alcatraz' with Joey Fatone - 3/12/20

People, 3/11/20 --

Justin Timberlake and Joey Fatone were once jailbirds!

In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday, Timberlake told the story of the time he and Fatone "accidentally broke into Alcatraz," the now-closed prison that housed famed criminals such as Al Capone.

The singer and actor, 39, revealed the hilarious details of the break-in, which occurred while the former *NSYNC bandmates were shooting a video in the Redwoods outside of San Francisco.

"We ended up shooting this one scene on this pier directly across from Alcatraz and at that time, I was, like, watching The Untouchables over and over again and I was obsessed with that fact that Al Capone had - was, you know, they put him in Alcatraz," Timberlake recalled. "And I said, 'Who wants to go see Alcatraz with me?' And Joey, who is usually game for anything, he was like, 'I'll go with you.'"

Only having a limited time before the next shot, the pair went in search of a ride to the former jail, which is located on an island in the San Francisco Bay.

"So the fire department was sort of waiting around and they came up and [said], 'Hey, can we take some pictures with you guys?'" Timberlake told DeGeneres. "And Joey and I were like, 'Sure. Would you take us to Alcatraz?' And they were like, 'Yeah, sure!'"

Timberlake said, "It was great, we ended up with like three or four ideas in like three hours. [...] I hope he doesn't mind that I'm gonna say this right now, but we talked about a possible joint project. We talked about it, but yeah, he's a busy man, too. I was like, 'You need to enjoy your moment, bro.' He played me new stuff the other day: It's unbelievable. That dude is so gifted. He's so good."

He also teased an upcoming collaboration with Lizzo, saying to Lowe, "Lizzo, can we please put the song out? We have one. Can we please put the song out? Shout out to Lizzo. Nashville Tornado: Justin Timberlake 'Devastated' for City, Admits It 'Hurts' to Watch - 3/5/20

popculture.com, 3/5/20 --

Justin Timberlake is one of the many music stars devastated by the damage left behind by a tornado that struck Nashville early Tuesday morning. The "Can't Stop The Feeling" singer shared a photo of the Basement East concert venue, which was destroyed by the tornado except for its "I Believe in Nashville" mural. At least 24 people died in the second most deadly tornado event in Tennessee history, reports NBC News.

"Devastated for this city so many of my friends and family call home," Timberlake wrote on Instagram. "Hurts to watch it get hit like this. But Tennesseans are some of the strongest people out there, and I know we'll stick together and rebuild. Please join me in supporting and donating to this incredible community while it recovers. Swipe to check out some local organizations you can get involved with... everything helps."

Timberlake included the hashtag "Nashville Strong." He included information on donating to the Red Cross in Tennessee, the Visit Music City Foundation and Hands On Nashville.

The Basement East is located in East Nashville, one of the hardest hit neighborhoods. The tornado ripped through the center of the venue, leaving just the front facade standing. The venue's owners announced they will try to relocate concerts to other venues throughout the city.

"We will send updates out to ticket holders on our website and social media as we determine the status of each show," the owners tweeted. "Please bear with us as this process could take a few days to weeks."

Other music stars took to social media to send their thoughts and prayers to Nashville and others affected by the tornado in Middle Tennessee. Taylor Swift is donating $1 million to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, while the Tennessee Titans' foundation and owner Amy Adams Strunk will donate $1 million to relief efforts as well.

"The tornado must have missed our block by an inch because we are alright but I am so depleted looking at the damage that has happened to our beautiful city," country star Marren Morris tweeted. "There are so many people in the streets helping already, though. Thinking of those who lost their loved ones + homes."

"Praying for all those affected by the devastating storms in Tennessee and my heart is especially with the families who lost loved ones," Dolly Parton added. "We are with you."

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee asked President Donald Trump to quickly declare a major disaster in the state to speed up efforts in Benton, Carroll, Davidson, Putnam and Wilson counties.

"Local and state emergency officials and responders, working alongside countless volunteers and non-profit organizations, have worked tirelessly to respond to the needs of their families, communities, and neighborhoods," Lee said in a statement. "It now becomes necessary for our federal partners to make resources available to supplement our efforts and get Tennessee and those impacted on our way to recovery."

Lance Bass Revealed What It Was Like To Be In A Boy Band In The '90s - 3/4/20

BuzzFeed News, 3/4/20 --

That Literally Happened, a new show from BuzzFeed News on Facebook Watch, is revisiting some of the most memorable moments of the '90s.

This week, we're talking boy bands! Every decade has its defining trends, but nothing encapsulates '90s pop culture quite like the boy band. Groups of previously unknown singers, backed by the power of the music industry, took over the entertainment world almost overnight.

Fame came quickly to the boy bands of the time, and Lance Bass of *NSYNC joined That Literally Happened to share his experience being at the center of it all.

"It was a time in music history that I don't think will ever exist again," Bass explained. "It was the explosion of pop. And people were selling records like no one had ever done before."

"I was excited to maybe get a job at Disney World," Bass recounted of his modest expectations when he joined the group at age 16. "That would have been fun."

Bass said he first knew the band was going to be big when they opened a stadium show for Janet Jackson in Detroit.

"I've never heard a noise like that before," he remembered. "You get these goosebumps and they don't go away the whole time you're onstage."

Justin Timberlake Throws Jessica Biel a Pajama Birthday Party - 3/4/20

People, 3/3/20 --

Justin Timberlake is celebrating his wife Jessica Biel as she turns 38 Tuesday.

Timberlake, 39, threw Biel a casual bash at home on Monday evening - and it's exactly what the actress wanted.

"Celebrating my birthday in style... and by that I mean, in pajamas," she captioned a set of photos. "Thank you @justintimberlake for throwing my kinda party. And thanks to all of you for the bday wishes!"

Biel's actual birthday kicked off with a special breakfast served by Timberlake and their 4½-year-old son, Silas Randall. "My boys know me SO well. Just came downstairs to this perfect birthday breakfast," she captioned a photo of donuts, bacon, eggs and avocado arranged in a smiley face.

Shortly after, Timberlake followed up with a slideshow of his own. "Happy Birthday to the LOVE of my life... A new adventure every day and a treasure to me. I can't wait to share many more of these with you," he wrote.

"Thanks for putting up with me when I smell funky after a round of golf or, when I smell funky in general. You are the mostest of the mostest, my love! I adore you. HUZ"

*NSYNC reunion: Lance Bass' surprise for fans as No Strings Attached turns 20 - 3/4/20

The Morning Show, 3/2/20 --

25 years ago, a group of five friends burst onto the music scene, marking the genesis of one of the world's biggest boy bands - *NSYNC. The boys had it all, from the hair to the fashion and dance moves - and they sold over 50 million records, tearing up hearts the world over.

Led by Justin Timberlake, the band quickly sought world domination - from fashion to toys and posters in every teenage girl's bedroom. But it was late recruit Lance Bass who fans developed a soft spot for. Famous for his frosted tips and 'shy guy' persona, he remained one step ahead of his bandmates, leading to his own showbiz supremacy.

Now, 25 years on from his first audition, Lance is back behind the mic for a new project - but it's his time as part of the world's biggest boy band that will forever keep us all in sync.

"When we got together, we were all friends, and we decided we would start an a capella group and it just got bigger and bigger and bigger," Bass said.

After leaving the band, Lance went on to start his own management company - and now he's co-hosting a new podcast called The Daily Popcast, and he's got some big news for *NSYNC fans.

"This podcast format has been incredible," Bass said.

"We started a couple of months ago, and we just have the best time going over all of the pop culture news of the day.

"Leading up to the No Strings Attached 20th anniversary, each of the *NSYNC guy will be sitting down with me one-on-one leading up to the anniversary.

"This is going to be the first time I get to interview Justin Timberlake. I've had the show for a number of years, but this is the first time we will have a sitdown - and I'm excited to really get into it with him."

Lady Gaga, SZA, Justin Timberlake & Dua Lipa Lead Disco's Radio Revival - 3/2/20

Justin Timberlake and Trolls' Branch

Billboard, 3/2/20 --

Two superstar singles launch on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated March 7), as SZA and Justin Timberlake's "The Other Side" soars in at No. 27 and Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love" starts at No. 28.

Both songs arrived during the chart's Feb. 24-March 1 tracking week: "The Other Side" (on Villa 40/Dreamworks/RCA Records) premiered on Wednesday, Feb. 26, and "Stupid Love" (on Interscope Records) was released on Friday, Feb. 28.

"Stupid Love" is a "mega-smash," praises WBBM-FM (B96) Chicago assistant program director/music director Erik Bradley. "I think it's going to be massive, and early listener response indicates the same."

Meanwhile, "The Other Side" serves up a "nice throwback vibe," Bradley says of the song, which accompanies Trolls World Tour, whose soundtrack is due March 13, ahead of the film's April 17 premiere. The movie is the sequel to 2016's Trolls, which generated Timberlake's Pop Songs, and Billboard Hot 100, No. 1 "Can't Stop the Feeling!"

"Hopefully, Justin and Trolls will work the same as it did the last time," Bradley muses.

"It's a big week for top 40," says Taylor Jukes, WHYI (Y100) Miami program director, who likewise predicts "The Other Side" as a hit heading into spring. "Lady Gaga's new song is also impressive, and brings you back."

Concurrently, "Stupid Love" and "The Other Side" roar onto the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart at Nos. 24 and 27, respectively (as "Don't Stop Now" bullets at No. 8).

The Pop Songs chart ranks songs by weekly plays on a panel of 169 mainstream top 40-formatted radio stations, as monitored by Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Adult Pop Songs reflects weekly plays on 87 adult top 40 reporters.

All charts (dated March 7) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (March 3).

Justin Timberlake weighs in on Girl Scout cookie debate - 2/28/20

CNN, 2/28/20 --

Justin Timberlake has some big thoughts about Samoas versus Thin Mints. The "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer got in on the debate about the two flavors of Girl Scout cookies on Thursday. Posting on his verified Instagram account, Timberlake put up a pair of videos talking about the two flavors.

"FOOD FOR THOUGHT. Double tap for DOUBLE SAMOAS," he wrote in the caption. "Comment for Thin Mints."

In the first video, the singer bites into a Samoa.

"You know, this one is for the Girl Scouts of America. We support you," he said as he tasted the cookie. "Ooh, do we support you!"

Apparently, Timberlake's love of coconut makes him Team Samoas. But he totally gets that the debate is quite "contentious."

"Maybe we should start a survey," he said. "I know everybody automatically thinks about Thin Mints when they think of Girl Scout cookies."

With or without a survey, however, Timberlake shows no sign of abandoning coconut.

SZA and Justin Timberlake Drop First Song From 'Trolls World Tour' - 2/26/20

Variety, 2/26/20 --

SZA and Justin Timberlake released "The Other Side," the first song from the upcoming "Trolls World Tour" soundtrack.

Of course, Timberlake's Grammy-winning 2016 hit "Can't Stop the Feeling," from the first "Trolls" film, was one of the most massive hits in a career filled with them, and like that song, this one involves co-writer Max Martin - the biggest hitmaker of the past 25 years - and sounds like it could be just as big.

The eye-catching video - a throwback to Hype Williams' 1990s fish-eye-lensed clips for Missy Elliott, Diddy, Mase and others - adds to the song's appeal, and includes some comic elements as well: Watch for the moment when SZA wipes out on her towering heels.

The track was written specifically for the film by Justin Timberlake, Martin, Ludwig Göransson, Sarah Aarons and Solana Rowe (SZA) and produced by Timberlake and Göransson.

"The Other Side" is the first single to be released from the upcoming "Trolls World Tour (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)," which will be available on March 13 via RCA Records. Timberlake returns as the executive music producer alongside Göransson, and contributed several new songs, along with tracks from Kelly Clarkson, Anderson .Paak, Mary J. Blige, Anna Kendrick, George Clinton, Dierks Bentley, Anthony Ramos and more (full track list below).

"I was so thrilled to be invited to participate in this project with Justin," said SZA. "The creative process of working with him and the team was filled with such excitement. It's an energy you can feel in both the song and music video. I can't wait for people to check it out."

"It has been such a fun process writing and executive producing for this project," said Timberlake. "Being able to bring together different creatives from various disciplines and genres has been the most rewarding part. Creating something that serves the movie while still being able to exist apart from it has been a fun challenge that was made even more exciting by working with the other amazing artists that helped us put this together."

Queerties: Vote for Lance Bass's 'Boy Band Con' - 2/20/20

Justin Timberlake Shares Photos in the Studio With Max Martin, But Is He 'Trolling' Fans? - 2/20/20

Billboard, 2/20/20 --

Feb. 2 marked two years since Justin Timberlake's Man of the Woods album arrived, and it seems there may be new JT music on the horizon -- and that Max Martin is involved.

Timberlake posted four studio photos to Instagram on Wednesday (Feb. 19), including one shot with the Swedish superproducer. But as fans may notice, JT's pic with Martin, as well as another photo, feature a little blue troll.

That troll is Tiny Diamond, a new character from Trolls World Tour, the sequel to the wildly popular animated film Trolls, for which Timberlake curated the soundtrack. Timberlake will also be serving as executive producer for the second Trolls compilation, and from the looks of it, Martin will be involved this time around as well (he co-wrote and co-produced four tracks on the Trolls soundtrack, including Timberlake's Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 "Can't Stop the Feeling").

The "Sexyback" singer has been teasing studio sessions with several superstars since last May, sharing behind-the-scenes pics and footage with Lizzo, Anderson .Paak and Haim.

One week before posting his pic with Martin, Timberlake unveiled the track listing for the Trolls World Tour soundtrack, which has 20 tracks and will also feature Kelly Clarkson, Mary J Blige, SZA and Icona Pop.

Though Timberlake hasn't revealed any plans to release non-Trolls music this year, he did just team up with Meek Mill on the inspirational track "Believe" that arrived on Feb. 7. Here's hoping Timberlake's time with Martin spawned some other JT bangers.

Trolls World Tour is due to hit theaters on April 17.

Lance Bass says everyone keeps guessing he's on The Masked Singer - 2/19/20

Lance Bass

Entertainment Weekly, 2/19/20 --

Lance Bass is many things: a former member of *NSYNC, a radio host, a movie producer. He promises, however, that he is NOT a contestant on The Masked Singer this season.

"I do get a lot of tweets about 'Lance is definitely the Turtle,'" Bass told EW recently, referring to the Group A contestant on season 3 of The Masked Singer, who the judges are convinced is a past boyband member. "I get lots of weird tweets, and everyone guessing it's me, but unfortunately, it's not."

Were he under the Turtle mask, Bass wouldn't be the first *NSYNCer on the show. His former bandmate Joey Fatone appeared on season 1 as the Rabbit. Bass has said in the past he knew it was his best friend immediately because "I just know how he speaks, and the words that he says, it's very particular."

Seeing how Fatone had a blast on The Masked Singer, and being friends with producer Deena Katz, who helps cast the show, Bass has a bit of a standing offer to appear on the Fox reality competition.

"I feel like it seems like it'd be so much fun, but I don't know if I would ever do the show," says the entertainer. "You know, it's a lot of time, and I just don't have that right now."

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Mr Smith Goes to Berlin With Fisher Stevens' 'Palmer,' Starring Justin Timberlake - 2/18/20

Justin Timberlake

Variety, 2/18/20 --

U.K. sales agency Mr Smith Entertainment will bring "Palmer" onto the market at this year's Berlinale. Starring Justin Timberlake and directed by Academy Award winning director Fisher Stevens (Best Documentary Feature - "The Cove" with Louis Psihoyos; "Before the Flood"), the dramatic feature has been buzzing since shooting was announced last fall.

Written by Cheryl Guerriero, the feature follows Eddie Palmer, a former college football player just out from a stint in prison. Back in his hometown and hoping to stay on the straight and narrow, he must face residual conflicts from his past while raising a young boy abandoned by his mother.

Academy Award-winning producer Charles B. Wessler ("Green Book") will produce alongside SK Global's John Penotti ("Crazy Rich Asians") and Charlie Corwin ("The Squid and the Whale"), with Sidney Kimmel ("Crazy Rich Asians") and Daniel Nadler ("Motherless Brooklyn"). SK Global and Nadler are co-financing the film.

Timberlake, whose onscreen credits include "The Social Network," "Wonder Wheel" and "Inside Llewyn Davis," is joined by Academy Award-nominee June Squibb (Best Actress - "Nebraska"), Juno Temple ("Atonement," "Maleficent"), Aisha Wainwright ("Lethal Weapon") and newcomer Ryder Allen.

"'Palmer' is a very zeitgeisty story which is both commercial and utterly heart-warming," Mr Smith's David Garrett told Variety.

Penotti and Corwin said in a statement before shooting: "Justin and Fisher bring a resonant perspective to this emotional story. It is both timely and ultimately a hopeful, entertaining story about the resilience and power of human kindness."

Timberlake is repped by WME and LBI Entertainment, Stevens by CAA and Guerriero is managed by Heroes and Villains Entertainment.

Anna Kendrick joins co-star Justin Timberlake at the Trolls World Tour photocall in Berlin - 2/17/20

Justin Timberlake

Daily Mail, 2/17/20 --

Their latest adventure sees the two trolls attempt to unify members of different music genres against Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), who only wants rock to reign supreme. And Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake appeared in great spirits as they attended the photocall for their upcoming musical comedy film Trolls World Tour in Berlin, Germany, on Monday morning.

Actor and singer Justin ensured he didn't let his co-star down in the style stakes as he rocked a suit jacket, a monochrome shirt and lightly-distressed jeans.

Anna and Justin have been making the rounds to promote their sequel to the animated adventure, ahead of its April release date.

On Thursday, the Rock Your Body singer dropped the A-list soundtrack to the highly-anticipated film, featuring the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Mary J Blige.

Lance Bass on his *NSYNC superfan movie's wild link to studio boss, if the band will star - 2/15/20

*NSYNC

Entertainment Weekly, 2/15/20 --

With the success of films like Lady Bird and Hustlers, it seems like filmgoers have begun to embrace nostalgia for the aughts, and Lance Bass has taken note of it.

The former *NSYNC member just announced he has partnered with Sony's TriStar Pictures to produce a film about two girls who quit school to follow *NSYNC on their final tour in a Winnebago they won from the game show The Price Is Right.

"The fact that it happened just like that, that they willed that weird thing to happen," Bass exclaims, "it was the biggest prize ever given on Price Is Right, I mean that is nuts to me. So that means it has to be a film."

The executive producer of the as-yet-untitled film talked to EW about the serendipitous way the film finally got greenlit, who he's thinking about for the cast, and why *NSYNC may not be characters in the film.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: To start, can you walk me through how long of a journey it's been getting this film greenlit?
LANCE BASS:
It's actually been about a 20 year journey. When I first found out about this true story, we were towards the end of our [Popodyssey] tour, and these girls had been following us for two and a half months already. I was watching TRL from inside the venue in San Diego and Carson Daly is on the Winnebago with these girls out front, talking about their story, and I'm like, "Oh my gosh, this is the coolest thing ever." So me and the guys immediately went out into the parking lot, met the girls, gave them tickets to the rest of the shows, and it was just a really cool story. I knew at that moment, I'm like, "this is going to be the best movie one day. I cannot wait." That was my first year to ever produce a movie, so I'm like, "this is gonna be one of my movies."

Fast forward 20 years later. I've pitched it a few times throughout the years, but no one really was jumping at it [until last] year. I'd just did this documentary on Lou Pearlman, and I was doing some press for it, and I was talking to Variety, and they're like, "What's your next film?" I was like, "Well, I've always wanted to make this film." The next day Sony calls and says, "That's it. We want to do this." The crazy thing was the reasoning behind it was the chairman of Sony is the one who called, and he's like, "You have no idea. One of the girls has been [my] nanny for the last 10 years." So he had this crazy connection with the actual person who lived it, so he got it immediately. I'm like, "Yes!" That was such a great inside thing to have.

Justin Timberlake Fondly Recalls Time When Angry Boomers Pelted Him With Urine Bottles - 2/15/20

Vulture, 2/15/20 --

Back in the early aughts when a young Justin Timberlake was just starting to go solo, a huge concert was being organized by the Rolling Stones in Toronto to benefit a SARS outbreak. Mick Jagger, diggin' the sweet "Señorita" sounds of the future Trolls legend, invited him to perform during the concert's coveted evening sets (alongside the Stones, AC/DC, the Guess Who, and noted Canadian deities Rush), a decision that, as Timberlake now recalls, resulted in a very irate reception from the boomer demographic.

"It was a bit of a blur, but I remember saying to the band before we went on stage, I don't think this is going to go well," Timberlake explained. "All of a sudden bottles of urine were thrown on the stage. It wasn't always good times for me, you guys." (Per the event's Wikipedia page, muffins and toilet paper were hurled at him, too.) Undeterred, Timberlake finished his set, and by the fourth or fifth song the liquid carnage ceased. "I still have a lot of trauma," he added. "Either they ran out of nerve, because they knew I was going to stay there, or they ran out of urine." Either way ... pretty grim.

TriStar Pictures Lands *NSYNC Superfan Movie From Producers Lance Bass, Cindy Cowan - 2/13/20

*NSYNC

Variety, 2/13/20 --

Sony label TriStar Pictures has acquired an untitled feature film about *NSYNC superfans who followed the boy band on tour in 2001, packed in a Winnebago bought with prize money from "The Price Is Right."

Lance Bass, who first teased the project to Variety out of SXSW last year, is producing through his eponymous company along with Cindy Cowan (Robert De Niro's "Red Lights," the doc "Miracle on 42nd Street").

Pitched as "Girls Trip" meets "Pitch Perfect," the film is based on the true story of two best friends from Park City, Utah, who used game show earnings to buy a motor home and travel the U.S. to catch Bass and company - Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick - on their fourth and final national tour.

The project was preemptively brought in by TrisStar Pictures head Nicole Brown, from an original concept by Bass.

Bass made his producing debut with "The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story," which played SXSW and had a limited theatrical run before premiering as a YouTube original.

Cowan, of Cindy Cowan Entertainment, is currently producing for Screen Gems a feature adaptation of Edwin F. Becker's book "True Haunting." She's also developing the chopper cop action film "Eye in the Sky" with Millennium and "Line of Control" with The Exchange.

Bass previously said that music would be a major influence in the new film, and could potentially have a life as a Broadway production after film adaptation.

Lance is repped by ICM. Cowan is represented by Tifanie Jodeh at Entertainment Law Partners. Shary Shirazi, vice president of production at TriStar, is overseeing the project for the studio.

commercialappeal.com, 2/13/20 --

Memphis-area native and global pop star Justin Timberlake has teased fans with a preview of the soundtrack to his upcoming film, "Trolls World Tour."

Timberlake took to social media on Thursday, revealing a handwritten list of songs in the animated feature. Timberlake and Anna Kendrick star in the film - a sequel to the 2015 "Trolls" - which is due in theaters April 20. Timberlake and Kendrick are currently in Europe doing advance promotion for the film.

After Timberlake's internet tease, the official "Trolls" film account expanded on artists and songs featured in the movie. The soundtrack will see collaborations between Timberlake and various performers including SZA, Anderson Paak, Mary J. Blige, and Funkadelic's George Clinton.

The track list also includes songs by Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson and Haim, as well as songs by "Trolls World Tour" cast members Sam Rockwell and Rachel Bloom.

"Trolls World Tour" will follow Kendrick and Timberlake's characters Queen Poppy and Branch as they go on an adventure that "will take them well beyond what they've known before, as they discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock."

The soundtrack to "Trolls World Tour" is available for pre-order now.

He added: 'If he gets a bad shot, you're hearing about for 10 minutes.'

Meek Mill and Justin Timberlake Drop New Song 'Believe': 'You Can't Lock the Soul of a Man Down' - 2/8/20

PEOPLE, 2/7/20 --

Meek Mill and Justin Timberlake have joined musical forces.

At midnight on Friday, Mill, 32, released his new song "Believe" featuring Timberlake, 39, along with a music video.

"Follow your dreams," Mill raps in the tune, which has an empowering message. "Put my face in the dead of the ground, still I raise up to take back the crown, yes," Timberlake sings. "You can break my body but you can't lock the soul of a man down."

The visual is equally moving, as it starts with a gripping scene, showing what appears to be a mother and daughter in agony as they watch the father of the family be taken away from their home in handcuffs.

As the father serves time in jail, the daughter embarks on a boxing career, seemingly channeling the pain of her father being absent into the sport.

Later in the clip, the father and daughter have an emotional reunion as he surprises her at one of her matches.

Also in the video, Mill shares a symbolic message of his own, as he's seen holding on to a piece of jewelry, which includes pendants of the late Nipsey Hussle and a third eye symbol.

At the end of the video, the mother reads a bible verse from the book of Luke in the New Testament, which says "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth nations will be in anguish at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what will come of the world. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift your heads because your redemption is coming."

Former 'SNL' Writer Paula Pell Gushes Over Justin Timberlake As The Most 'Loved' Host Of All-Time - 2/5/20

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

HollywoodLife, 2/5/20 --

Paula Pell, 56, has seen her fair share of SNL guest hosts and performers over the years. She was a writer for the legendary late night sketch comedy series for two decades and played a part in why it was so iconic for over 200 of its episodes. So why, of all people, was Justin Timberlake her all-time favorite guest host? She spilled the beans on her affection for the "Mirrors" singer EXCLUSIVELY with HollywoodLife at the Writer's Guild Awards in New York City on Saturday, February 1. "Well, it's funny because one of my favorite guests is Justin Timberlake, because I used to do the Omeletteville sketches with him," the Wine Country actress said. "I would sit down late night listening to all those songs as pop songs and put different words and all this. He'd come in and in two seconds have every single bit of it down."

She continued, "We always had a big laugh together, and I've loved any host that, you know, just because it's the WGA Awards, we would always love hosts that remembered the writers, that revered them and that really became friends with them while they work deeply with them. And if you had a host that didn't even really know your name or want to know your name, and you're doing a very big sketch for them, and you'd always kind of be like, 'oh boy, this person does not realize where their bread is buttered at the show.'"

The way how Justin treated Paula and the rest of the SNL writing staff had a lasting effect on her that was felt with other guest hosts during her long tenure there. "So a lot of them that were very dear I still see today and have a recognition with", she said. "It means a lot, because you can become very anonymous as a writer and kind of get hidden, and then they get up and do your stuff and get accolades for it. And you're like, 'maybe you should have learned my name.'"

Justin is no spring chicken at Studio 8H inside Rockefeller Plaza. He's hosted the show a whopping 5 times beginning all the way back in 2007 which earned him 3 Primetime Emmy Awards in the process!

Justin Timberlake keeps it casual at a Trolls World Tour photocall - 2/5/20

Justin Timberlake

Daily Mail, 2/5/20 --

Justin Timberlake looked like he was focused on business again on Tuesday at a photocall in Glendale, California, for his upcoming animated musical film Trolls World Tour. The 39-year-old pop singer was joined by his co-star Anna Kendrick, 34, for the publicity event.

Justin stuck with a laid-back casual look featuring an olive windbreaker, which he paired with a black graphic T-shirt and matching jeans. The Wonder Wheel star dressed his look up slightly with a pair of charcoal and navy two-tone pin-striped trousers with zip-up pockets. He added a silvery luxury wristwatch for some added flair and sported a close-cropped beard.

He stars in Trolls World Tour as Branch, a constantly nervous troll who's survivalist skills give him a leg up. The sequel to the 2016 hit Trolls finds Branch and his friends as they learn of multiple other tribes of trolls, each of which specializes in a different genre of music. When the hard rock-loving trolls set out to make their music reign supreme, Branch and the defenders of pop music set out to unite the tribes.

Justin Timberlake Supports Wife Jessica Biel at The Sinner Season 3 Premiere - 2/4/20

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

PEOPLE, 2/4/20 --

Jessica Biel was joined by husband Justin Timberlake on Monday night at the season 3 premiere of her acclaimed TV series The Sinner in Los Angeles.

The couple was photographed together at The London Hotel in West Hollywood in what was their first public event since Timberlake apologized to Biel after he was seen holding hands with Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright during a night out in New Orleans in November.

While the pair skipped the red carpet - Biel posing there, instead, with her television costars, including Matt Bomer, Chris Messina, Parisa Fitz-Henley and Bill Pullman - Timberlake and Biel were inseparable inside the screening and at the premiere's afterparty.

He was seen looking adoringly at Biel as her executive producer credit appeared on screen. After the screening ended, Timberlake applauded Biel, telling one of the cast members that he "can't wait to see more."

Later, at the afterparty, Timberlake, 39, and Biel, 37, were spotted holding hands and affectionally touching one another while they chatted with the USA Network show's cast and crew. They even snapped photos with friends before heading home, Timberlake settling Biel into their car prior to getting in himself.

Seahawks Win Bud Light Celly Of The Year Award For Second Straight Year - 2/3/20

seahawks.com, 2/1/20 --

Seahawks receivers' *NSYNC-inspired touchdown dance took home Celebration of the Year Honors at Saturday night's NFL Honors ceremony.

Seahawks receivers said, "Bye Bye Bye" to celebrate a touchdown during an October win over the Cleveland Browns, and on Saturday night, they said hello to Celebration of the Year honors for their *NSYNC-inspired touchdown dance.

Seattle receivers Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Jaron Brown and David Moore did a brief *NSYNC "Bye Bye Bye" dance in the end zone to celebrate Brown's 17-yard touchdown reception, and that well-choreographed dance was named the Bud Light Celly of the Year at Saturday's NFL Honors show in Miami a day before Super Bowl LIV.

The celebration went viral almost immediately, and the 1990s boy band even expressed their approval via twitter.

This is the second straight year Seattle's receivers have come up with the celebration of the year, having won the inaugural Celebration of the Year award last year for their dance that was inspired by the 1991 movie "The Five Heartbeats."

Post Malone's performance at the "Bootsy on the Water" Super Bowl party was delayed when Miami was hit with a torrential downpour on Friday. But the intrepid, facially tattooed performer went on.

We're told 24-year-old performed his hits, and closed out the show with surprise guests will.i.am and Ty Dolla $ign.

Kevin Hart hosted, and Von Miller and DJ Irie spun tunes.

Other notables at the bash included Odell Beckham Jr., The Chainsmokers, G-Eazy, Miles Teller, Lance Bass, La La Anthony, and Jonathan "Foodgod" Cheban. Some other outdoor concerts around Miami, such as a Harry Styles show, had to be canceled due to the rain.

Joey Fatone added to Geek'd Con lineup - 2/3/20

Joey Fatone

1130thetiger.com, 2/1/20 --

Geeks in the Ark-La-Tex have been able to enjoy Geek'd Con, Shreveport's comic con, for the last 5 years. Many geeks have caught the comic con bug now, and are looking to expand their convention experiences. If you find yourself in that position, might we suggest a road trip to Huntsville, Alabama?

We already talked a little bit before about why checking out the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture is a great idea, but we've got some more news on the show.

The guest lineup in Huntsville is already super impressive, with comic book legend Chris Claremont, Star Trek stars Gates McFadden & Marina Sirtis, pro wrestling legend Glenn "Kane" Jacobs. But this week the show announced one of our personal favorites, a friend of Geek'd Con in Shreveport, Joey Fatone will be joining their lineup!

Fatone, probably best known as a member of *NSYNC, has become a multimedia star over his career. On the big screen, Fatone was in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding series, on TV he's hosted shows from The Singing Bee to Food Network's Rewrapped, and has even competed on TV reality game shows. He got second place on Dancing With the Stars, and became a fan favorite as The Rabbit on The Masked Singer.

If you met Fatone back in 2017 when he came to Shreveport for Geek'd Con, you know how quickly you can become his friend. If you missed out on that chance, now you can make it up by making the day trip to Huntsville to meet him!

Chris Kirkpatrick attends Soundwaves Crowd Surf fundraiser - 1/29/20

Chris Kirkpatrick

fox17.com, 1/25/20 --

The SoundWaves Crowd Surf for a Cause fundraiser raised $5,000 toward The Store, a free referral-based grocery store for those living with food insecurity founded by Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

Nashville-based personalities and celebrities participated in Tennessee's only double FlowRider surf simulator to earn donations for The Store. Participating guests included *NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick; social influencers Sam and Hootie Hurley; Producer Eddie, Scuba Steve and Lunchbox from iHeartradio's syndicated The Bobby Bones Show; flowboard pro Jon Reese; TV hosts Adam Wurtzel and Ashley Eicher; and blogger, professor and TV host Sami Cone.

"Everyone at The Store has been focused on raising funds to complete our capital campaign over the past year, and it has been a lot of work," says The Store Board Member and President/Co-Founder of 615 Leverage + Strategy John Zarling who also participated in the event. "But thanks to our friends at Ryman Hospitality Properties and Gaylord Opryland Resort, today we got to raise money while also having a lot of fun! Leave it to the team at SoundWaves to show us how we can raise awareness while making fools of ourselves on body boards, in the dead of winter, no less! A big thank you to everyone who was a part of this special event.

The Crowd Surf for a Cause fundraiser was part of SoundWaves' inaugural Nashville with a Splash event. In addition to the fundraiser, the two-night Nashville with a Splash package included the SoundWaves water experience, happy hour food and beverage samplings sponsored by Codigo 1530 tequila, live music from singer/songwriters Steve Moakler, Casey Brown and Matt Jenkins, and more.

Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, in partnership with Belmont University, opened The Store to provide Nashville families in need with a year-round free grocery store. The Store was inspired by Unity Shoppe, a nonprofit grocery store in Santa Barbara, California, which has helped families in need for more than 100 years.

Clients are given the opportunity to come to The Store for a one-year period. There is no charge to those referred or the people and agencies that send them.

The Store allows clients to shop for food to supplement their income during times of crisis as they attempt to work toward self-sufficiency.

UPDATE: *NSYNC members pay tribute to Kobe Bryant after his death - 1/28/20

View this post on Instagram

We met when we were both teenagers and bonded over our drive and process. I was in awe of what you could do with a basketball and knew your talent went beyond your physical gifts and stretched to your mentality. A mentality that I would take with me throughout my whole career and still use every day. As the years went by, I watched you do things that seemed humanly unimaginable. And, through ups and downs, championships and injuries, you still remained with an unwavering resolve about your mentality to remain fierce to competition. But, every time we would speak or text, something started to change... your patience and ease grew. And it inspired me to continue to grow for myself. Years passed, and the "old man" jokes would start to be traded back and forth. We both appreciated a good "ribbing." We joked about "The Vino Club." You nicknamed yourself 'Vino' to represent how one could age gracefully as a fine wine does. But, you never stopped aiming to inspire me. Your confidence in me was huge - it really affected me because I admired you so much. I don't mean as one of the greatest athletes ever. I mean as a person. People sometimes can confuse a will to win with a lack of compassion. That wasn't you. You had both qualities. The last conversation that we shared was about being fathers and what that meant. That was, beyond all the things that we could do in this world, our true legacy. Who our children are and what beautiful people they will become. And, I guess right now, without being able to find all the words, THAT father connection is what is most devastating for me. I am sending my love to Vanessa and your family and to the families of everyone connected in the mourning of this terrible tragedy. My heart is broken and my family lifts you up in our thoughts and prayers. Kobe... You have connected so many of us. The Mamba Mentality will last for all of time. I know that will be a source for me every day as it has been for so many days before. Your legacy is with us. It's our responsibility to pass it down now. I hope I can continue to make you proud, Vino. Champ, MVP, Legend, Hero, Inspiration, Father, Friend. I'm gonna miss you, brother. Mamba forever.

Lance Bass Recalls *NSYNC's 2001 Super Bowl Performance & Scary Near Death Experience - 1/22/20

E! Online, 1/22/20 --

The Super Bowl is less than two weeks away!

So, it wasn't surprising when Lance Bass got nostalgic about his own Super Bowl halftime performance during his Wednesday morning visit to Pop of the Morning. As E! readers surely recall, Bass participated in the 2001 halftime show alongside his then-boy band *NSYNC, Aerosmith and notable guest stars.

"I mean, as an artist, it's your dream. You know?" Bass reflected to Pop of the Morning co-hosts Lilliana Vazquez and Scott Tweedie. "There's those stages that you want to hit and Super Bowl is the ultimate, because there's billions of people watching you around the world."

In fact, as the "Bye Bye Bye" artist noted, the Super Bowl halftime show has the ability to "explode someone's career."

"You think your career is at a certain level, but then you do the Super Bowl and then it just becomes another ginormous...It's insane!" Bass added.

Of course, it helped that the '01 halftime show had so many big names onstage. We're, obviously, talking about Britney Spears, Nelly and Mary J. Blige's guest appearances.

"I think that might've been, maybe, the first time they did that with so many artists," the chart topper reflected. "You know, it was the first year that MTV took over and did the halftime show. So, they had the idea of putting *NSYNC and Aerosmith together - 'cause, of course, we're exactly the same type of band."

Nonetheless, Bass said he had been "excited about" performing alongside Aerosmith as they're his "favorite band of all time." Still, the performance was rounded out by the addition of Spears, Nelly and Blige.

"I thought it was just so epic," Bass expressed.

Per Bass, the famed boy band and the rock legends "probably put this together in a couple of days." While Bass assured Vazquez and Tweedie that they already knew the choreography, he made it known that the performance wasn't without some hiccups.

Apparently, during one rehearsal, some poorly timed pyrotechnics almost took out the beloved boybander.

"So, I'm being trampled by all the fans and then I get up to the stage, and they use a lot of pyro. The pyro blows up right in front of me. It almost blew me up," the "Tearin' Up My Heart" singer detailed. "I had like singed hair and everything...I was on stage in rehearsal and I didn't even do a dance move, I was so upset."

To be fair, as Bass said himself, they almost "killed" him.

For all of this and more, including Bass' predictions for the Super Bowl LIV halftime show, be sure to watch the clip above!

Lance Bass speaks at LA Women's March - 1/19/20

Lance Bass

heraldmailmedia.com, 1/18/20 --

Thousands of women turned out Saturday to participate in Women's March [2020] in downtown Los Angeles and dozens of other cities across the country in a push for social justice and federal policies that promote equality for all.

With a record number of women elected to Congress in the 2018 midterm election, organizers said their agenda this year includes an Equal Rights Amendment, expanding the Violence Against Women Act, universal healthcare, reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, the decriminalization of sex work and campaign finance reform.

Large rallies were also planned in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, New York, Houston and Chicago. The global gatherings were launched two years ago in protest of the inauguration of President Donald Trump, who was caught on tape bragging in crude terms about groping women without their consent.

Hundreds of women and their supporters gathered early Saturday at Pershing Square in downtown L.A., some carrying rainbow flags or sporting pink knitted hats.

At an afternoon rally outside Los Angeles City Hall, a balloon showing Trump as a giant, orange baby in a diaper floated over the crowd. Speakers included actresses Laverne Cox and Connie Britton, singer Lance Bass and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who was working at City Hall to broker a deal between United Teachers Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Lance Bass Wishes Shaq Signed *NSYNC When He Had the Chance - 1/16/20

Lance Bass

TMZ, 1/16/20 --

Shaq's decision to pass on signing *NSYNC after helping the boy band get off the ground is still tearing up Lance Bass' heart -- but he says there still would've been one major issue.

We got the singer at Villa Blanca in Bev Hills and our guy asked about Shaq coming thiiis close to signing *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys way back in the '90s.

Shaq's already said not signing the group is one of the biggest mistakes he's ever made, and Lance told us ... he couldn't agree more.

As you know ... *NSYNC owes a lot of its early success to Shaq. Lance revealed their connection a couple years ago, telling us the NBA superstar lent them the recording studio in his Orlando mansion when they were starting out.

Lance says he 100 percent wishes the big fella pulled the trigger and signed them -- but adds he's not certain Shaq could've saved them from manager Lou Pearlman and his infamous ponzi scheme.

Ahhh, hindsight.

Joey Fatone on 20 Years of 'No Strings Attached' & If *NSYNC Will Ever Reunite: 'It's Not a No' - 1/14/20

*NSYNC's No Strings Attached album

Billboard, 1/14/20 --

On Jan. 10, 2000, *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" was played on the radio for the very first time. Two decades later, pop fans still can't resist breaking out the video's iconic dance -- three fist-pumping hops followed by three sassy waves -- whenever they hear the Billboard Hot 100-topping No Strings Attached lead single.

On the latest episode of Billboard's Pop Shop Podcast, Joey Fatone -- one-fifth of one of the most popular boy bands of all time -- stops by to talk about the upcoming 20th anniversary of the group's landmark album, the possible future of *NSYNC following their four-member performance with Ariana Grande at Coachella last year and what's been keeping him busy since his music days, including his podcast and Game Show Network hosting gig.

What Does the Future of *NSYNC Hold?

Following *NSYNC (minus Justin Timberlake) performing with Ariana Grande at Coachella last spring, a lot of people wondered what could be next. A tour? A new album? And would it be with or without JT? Well, Joey says there were definitely some question marks after their weekend in the desert. "We started getting phone calls, of course," he says. "'Well, are you guys back together? What are you doing? Oh my gosh! There's an offer here.' This, that. There were offers thrown on the table, but the whole thing was, I don't think we were ready for it yet. I don't think even at the moment, like to really mentally wrap our head around to see what we want to do, and I think that's the conservation that we really have to have that we haven't had yet. It's really going: 'Do we wanna do it, or do we not? And if we do want to do it, what is it?' And that's something that will definitely take some time."

That said, he's not shutting down the possiblity. "It's not a no, but it's not a yes, because the thing is, we may come up with an idea that may not work for all of us. ... If I did do something like this, I think it's just something that definitely we will wanna do maybe more music, but also have fun, do you know what I mean? ... There's not a lot of pressure anymore. Usually back in the day, it was, 'You need to be No. 1. You need to do this. This should be that. This should be this.' For us, if we ever came back out, it's like it'd be nice to do all this stuff and be No. 1, but we've already done it. We're in our 40s! We got kids now! The backstage is going to be completely different, that's for damn sure! There'll be a lot more kids running around, no groupies," he laughs.

Hayley Kiyoko Hosts a Pre-Teen Jam Session with Lance Bass in Joyful 'She' Video: Watch - 1/14/20

Billboard, 1/14/20 --

For the last few months, pop star Hayley Kiyoko has been slowly releasing each of the tracks from her I'm Too Sensitive for This S--t EP. On Tuesday (Jan. 14), she finally added the cherry on top with a joyful video for the project's final track, "She," a guitar-infused pop-rock track where the singer takes the insecurities that she's faced throughout each of the other I'm Too Sensitive tracks and tosses them out the window.

"Don't wanna be dreaming, warm in bed/ Don't wanna be old with one regret," she sings. "Gotta be a diva, have respect." Alongside the song, Kiyoko dropped another sellf-directed video, this one a single-take, in which the younger, Lemonade Mouth-era, not-yet-Lesbian-Jesus version of herself sits in her bedroom trying on outfit-after-outfit, worrying about how she's perceived.

But as she begins to dream bigger and letting herself go, the singer pulls herself out of a funk with a good old-fashioned guitar jam, which brings her poster of Lance Bass to life in a special cameo from the former *NSYNC star. As she finally learns to love herself, Kiyoko whips out a rainbow flag and some confetti, proudly declaring exactly who she is.

In a statement released with the final track, Kiyoko said that she wanted her new video to celebrate the fact that all of the things that made her scared when she was younger are now the things that she loves most about herself. "This video celebrates that young, insecure girl that I used to be, who struggled with self-doubt but always dreamt big," she said. "It's a love letter to all the young people out there who are still dreaming. I hope this video inspires people to have faith that their struggles today will give them strength for tomorrow."

Kiyoko is preparing to take the EP on the road, with the I'm Too Sensitive for This S--t tour, which kicks off on Jan. 29 in San Diego, before hitting 21 U.S. states, as well as dates in Toronto and Montreal. The outing wraps with a March 13 gig at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

Inside the making of *NSYNC's iconic 'Bye Bye Bye' music video - 1/11/20

*NSYNC's No Strings Attached album

Entertainment Weekly, 1/11/20 --

On Sept. 7, 2000, Lance Bass, J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Justin Timberlake of the beloved boy band *NSYNC accepted the award for Best Pop Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. Dressed in an array of early 2000s fashion - Leather trench coats! Double denim! Ultra-fitted turtlenecks! - the group gathered onstage as Timberlake thanked God for His blessings and their respective families for being behind them, "no matter what stupid stuff we did or wore or sang or whatever."

Twenty years after the video's release, on Jan. 11, 2000, it's clear that - clothing aside - their fans found nothing stupid in what the guys did or sang. At the time of publication, the "Bye Bye Bye" music video has over 214 million views on YouTube. So in honor of its anniversary, we called up (most of) the group and a few of their collaborators to reminisce about the video's making, its feature film-sized budget, the days of TRL (that's MTV's Total Request Live, for the youngins), and the story behind one of the most memorable dances of all time.

A Group Effort

In the early 2000s, it wasn't uncommon for music videos to resemble mini-action movies, with high-energy dance breaks, bizarre concepts (we all remember Britney in Mars for the "Oops!... I Did it Again" video, right?) and money to spare. The "Bye Bye Bye" video was no exception. Complete with speeding trains, car chases, rabid dogs, and synchronized choreography on strings, director Wayne Isham created a thrilling four-minute ride that - if you don't overthink it too much - somehow fits with the lyrical theme of escaping an ex. "It was a fun time to make music videos," Bass tells EW. "It was all about MTV and how can we outdo each other - but spending $1 million on a video? That was probably stupid."

With the band's input, Isham used the guys' unique traits to come up with the concept. "We had a good run together," says Isham, who later worked with the group on the "It's Gonna Be Me" and "Pop" videos. "It definitely was a lot of fun because those guys all had a blast and took a lot of chances. They all have big personalities and we had to make sure we shined the light on everybody. Chris and Joey had the sense of fun, Justin has that smile, and J.C. and Lance had very wry humor about it all."

Lance Bass Reveals His Go-To Fitness Tips to Get Toned in 2020: 'It Totally Works!' - 1/6/20

Lance Bass

Life & Style, 1/1/20 --

Looking to get fit in 2020? *NSYNC member Lance Bass exclusively spilled his exercise secrets to Life & Style - and it's something anyone could do. While many celebs spend hours at the gym sweating it out with an expensive trainer, the singer revealed that his routine is low-key and great for those short on time.

"Eight-minute abs and eight-minute buns. I swear by it. It totally works," the 40-year-old explained. The host of "The Daily Popcast with Lance Bass" - where he breaks down the biggest stories in Hollywood each day - has a lot of items on his to-do list so it's not surprising that he needs an accessible workout plan that's no-fuss. He added, "I can do it anywhere as it is available online. It makes your abs and bum firm!" Lance is officially our new inspo for 2020.

One major question on everyone's mind is what can we expect from *NSYNC in the new year? After they reunited on stage at Coachella with Ariana Grande, fans have anxiously been awaiting their next moves.

"The guys and I haven't really discussed it yet but it's something that we'll need to discuss just because the hype from Coachella was so crazy," Lance exclusively dished to Life & Style back in June while promoting his partnership with Stoli Vodka. "We're getting a lot of offers ... All these offers that come across our desk we have to take seriously and discuss it. So, who knows what's going to happen."

He noted that he "wouldn't be able to put in the time" for the group to full-on get back together, but there is still hope. "You know, maybe we'll find something fun to do. Who knows what it's going to look like but we definitely need to discuss," Lance teased.

As far as any more A-list collaborations in the future, the Mississippi native mentioned that Taylor Swift would be a dream. "I love the way a female sounds with our harmonies. Doing that with Ariana was so special because you really got to hear what it sounded like with a different, high voice in there and it was great," he said.

We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for that!

Chris Kirkpatrick helps kids shop at Christmas 4 Kids event - 12/28/19

Chris Kirkpatrick

Hendersonville Standard, 12/27/19 --

Colored lights, blaring horns and the cheers of an excited crowd. That's how the annual Christmas 4 Kids shopping spree began at the Hendersonville Walmart Super Center on Dec. 17. Beginning with a dinner and entertainment at the Gallatin Civic Center earlier in the day, the event brought 400 local children together to fulfill their Christmas shopping dreams.

This year's chaperones included several local celebrities, including singer and *NSYNC cofounder Chris Kirkpatrick and Channel 4 anchor Holly Thompson. Local tour bus drivers donated their time and their busses to provide transportation for the children and chaperones; making the evening a special time for everyone.

Upon their arrival at Walmart, the children were greeted by a gauntlet of cheery volunteers as they disembarked from the busses. Several special guest greeters were also in the crowd, including the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch and various Star Wars characters.

During the shopping event, each child received a $175 allowance that they could spend however they wished. In addition, each child also received a free winter coat.

Judging by the smiles on the faces of the children, their chaperones and the volunteers, Christmas 4 Kids was truly "the most wonderful time of the year."

The 60-second clip of the "The Last Dance" showcases the cast of the characters interviewed for the series, which is directed by Jason Hehir ("The Fab Five," "The '85 Bears," "Andre the Giant").

*NSYNC's Joey Fatone & Chris Kirkpatrick Join Bret Michaels For Rowdy Sing-Along: Watch - 12/15/19

Billboard, 12/15/19 --

Bret Michaels took one of his greatest hits to a new, genre-crossing level in Orlando on Saturday night (Dec. 14) when two pop stars joined him and his band onstage for one especially "good time."

During his set at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood's Winterfest in Hollywood, Fla., Michaels got some vocal support from Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, who fully embraced Poison's hard-partying vibe. The *NSYNC singers bounded across the stage and joined Michaels on each chorus of Poison's 1988 hit "Nothin' But A Good Time."

Fatone and Kirkpatrick doubled as Michaels' hype-men throughout, and spent much of the performance running up to the audience and jumping up and down as Michaels took lead on the verses. Kirkpatrick later shared a pic from the side of the stage, and gushed on Instagram that he managed to check an item off his bucket list with the impromptu jam.

Michaels will be heading out on the road again with Poison, as well as Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on their joint stadium tour in 2020.

Watch Fatone and Kirkpatrick belt out "Nothin' But A Good Time" with Michaels below.

Billboard, 12/13/19 --

It would already be a treat to have one-fifth of *NSYNC show up on your doorstep -- but what if he also showed up bearing ice cream?

That's exactly what happened this week when Joey Fatone teamed up with DoorDash to surprise unsuspecting fans with a delivery of Baskin-Robbins ice cream.

How Lou Pearlman used Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC to lure people into massive Ponzi scheme - 12/13/19

ABC News, 12/13/19 --

Even after Lou Pearlman's con was uncovered - and as he sat in a prison cell serving a 25-year sentence - the notorious manager of *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys wasn't ready to give up his moneymaking ways. He started a choir behind bars and then tried launching a reality television show.

For decades, the businessman impressed investors with limo rides, flights on private jets, and paraded them by the studio where the huge stars he'd groomed were rehearsing.

All that flash, and the promise of a significant annual return, presented an image too enticing for investors to resist. But, no one knew that the performers raking in millions were barely making a living wage - and his investors did not realize the millions they gave him would be gone forever.

But some say if it weren't for Pearlman's unchecked greed, these bands that helped to define pop culture in the 1990s and early 2000s would never have taken off.

Pearlman got his start in the blimp business in the early 1980s. Later, he started chartering airplane flights, which he says led him to meet New Kids on the Block.

"I just didn't know who they were and I was just questioning, 'How could these kids afford an airplane?'" Pearlman told ABC News in a 2000 interview. "I was told these kids did $200 million in record sales and $800 million in touring and merchandising. I was like, 'I'm in the wrong business.'"

He was determined to create his own group to rival New Kids on the Block's success. In 1991, Pearlman moved all his businesses to Orlando, Florida, a city that had become a hub for young talent who flocked there for roles at the theme parks.

Justin Timberlake, Ellen DeGeneres & Stax Music Academy: A big night of holiday giving - 12/13/19

Justin Timberlake

Memphis Commercial Appeal, 12/12/19 --

Stax Music Academy (SMA) was given a national, primetime spotlight Thursday, with Justin Timberlake and Ellen DeGeneres celebrating the school and its students as part of an NBC-TV holiday special.

Stax Music Academy's appearance came on the final night of a three-part holiday special "Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways" - and DeGeneres did just that, presenting $250,000 to the SMA, and giving an additional $50,000 in college funds to one of its students, Christopher Clark.

Clark, the other students of academy, their families and friends all gathered Thursday at the Stax Music Academy building in South Memphis to watch the program.

"Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways" - shown over three nights - promised to offer "heartwarming surprises" as deserving people from around the country were presented with gifts and prizes. DeGeneres hosted and handed out awards along with a collection of big-name celebrity helpers, including Michelle Obama, Jennifer Aniston, Robert Downey Jr., Melissa McCarthy, Michael B. Jordan, Chrissy Teigen, and Steph and Ayesha Curry, among others.

SMA's appearance on the show was driven by Timberlake, the Millington native and global pop star. Timberlake established formal ties with the SMA in August when, as part of a Levi's funded effort, he installed a new songwriting lab in the academy and conducted a camp for students. Timberlake also pledged $100,000 toward a scholarship fund for SMA students over the next four years.

Soulsville communication director Tim Sampson accompanied the students to Hollywood, California, last month to tape the segment for the special.

"The way I understand it, Ellen partnered up with NBC and [sponsor] Green Dot Bank to do these giveaways and then she asked all her celebrity friends to come to do it with her and suggest worthy recipients," said Sampson. "She and Timberlake are friends, and it was Justin who said, 'Why don't you do something for the Stax Music Academy?'"

Lance Bass Recalls How Lou Pearlman's Death Really Impacted Him: "We Can All Start Healing" - 12/12/19

E! Online, 12/12/19 --

Lance Bass is opening old wounds for 20/20. The *NSYNC member sat down with the ABC newsmagazine for "The Hitman From Pop to Prison," a two-hour special about Lou Pearlman and E! News has your exclusive sneak peek.

Pearlman, who at one point served as manager for Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and O-Town, ran one of the biggest Ponzi schemes ever. He admitted to swindling investors and banks out of millions, and was the subject of fraud and misrepresentation lawsuits brought against him by the musicians he managed. Those client cases were eventually settled. The 20/20 special features new interviews with Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, as well as O-Town's Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick and Dan Miller. The singers all open up about working with Pearlman as well as reflect on his personality. In the exclusive sneak peek above, Bass recalls hearing about Pearlman's death in 2016.

"When I heard that Lou Pearlman had passed away, I was so confused on exactly how to feel. I was like, 'How could you die right now when we don't have this closure? You need to apologize! Like, there are so many people who are waiting for you to realize what you did,'" Bass says in the exclusive sneak peek. "And it pissed me off that he passed away."

In 2008, Pearlman plead guilty to charges and was sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of conspiracy, money laundering and making false statements during a bankruptcy proceeding. He died in prison from cardiac arrest in 2016.

Bass said when he heard about Pearlman's death, he experienced a wide range of emotions.

"You feel happy that no one else is going to be affected by him, and then you feel guilty because you feel that way. You loved him, you hated him, there are so many things that come out with Lou Pearlman," Bass said.

However, once he processed it all, he said he felt the story had ended and "we can all start healing."

20/20, which is anchored by David Muir and Amy Robach, will air "The Hitman From Pop to Prison" on Friday, Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. on ABC.

ABC News, 12/12/19 --

Boy bands Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC helped define an era of pop culture in the '90s.

But while they were performing for sold-out arenas and selling millions of albums, their then-manager Lou Pearlman was reaping most of the financial benefits.

*NSYNC members Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick, the members of O-Town and solo artist Sean van der Wilt spoke to "20/20" about their experiences with the notorious music mogul, who they say took advantage of their trust and took advantage of them financially.

Joey Fatone Defends Justin Timberlake Over Alisha Wainwright Photos: 'He Was Just Sitting There' - 12/11/19

Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake

HollywoodLife, 12/11/19 --

Joey Fatone, 42, is defending his former *NSYNC bandmate, Justin Timberlake, 38, following his apology for holding hands with his co-star, Alisha Wainwright, 30, on Nov. 21. "I think what he posted was legit," Joey referenced Justin's apology to HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY on Dec. 10 as he partners with DoorDash & Baskin-Robbins for Tis The Season. "Anybody gets drunk. Your sh*t goes out the door. It really does inhibit certain things. It looked like he was drunk," Joey noted. "He was literally just sitting there. That's what it looked like. That's what it looked like to me. That's what I saw as well."

While Joey is promoting his latest partnership, he is making time to keep in touch with his former bandmate, checking in on how he is doing. Joey revealed that, following the minor scandal, he did text Justin. "Just like, 'Hey, man, hope everything is cool. Just saying what's up.' That's it." Although Joey did reach out, he confessed that Justin "didn't respond." But staying in touch and being there has been difficult since the bandmates have gone on to pursue their individual careers.

Joey, especially found that it's "been tough" to keep in touch while they are all busy. He did, however, note that it's even more difficult to reach out, "Especially when something comes down." For Justin, that scrutiny has been on photos capturing the "SexyBack" singer holding hands with his co-star while the pair were filming in New Orleans. Justin and Alisha were spotted out on the night of Nov. 21 with the rest of their cast and crew at a bar following a long day of filming. Justin was seen holding hands with Alisha and, at one point, her hand was even on his leg. Naturally, the photos began a string of rumors concerning the pair. It got to the point where Justin even made a public apology.

The "Can't Stop The Feeling" singer took to his Instagram and made a lengthy statement on the situation, where he also apologized to his wife, Jessica Biel, 37. "A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse of judgement - but let me be clear - nothing happened between me and my costar," Justin wrote. "I drank way too much that night and regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son." Justin's post went on to add that he apologizes "to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be."

For Joey, the whole situation "just sucks" to watch play out in the public eye. Although, it seems now that Justin and Alisha have a hold on the circumstance and have set the record straight once and for all. Things for Joey, however, are looking exciting as the holidays roll in. With his partnership with Baskin-Robbins for Tis The Season, customers can receive $5 off orders of $10 or more and free delivery with the code: TISTHESEASON now through Dec. 22!

But there was also a dark side to the way he did business, and 20/20 is exposing all his criminal dealings in a new two-hour special.

Featuring interviews with *NSYNC's Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick and O-Town's Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, and Dan Miller, the former bandmates open up about working with Pearlman and how he affected their lives. How Justin Timberlake Helped A Canadian Cancer Survivor Embrace Her Scars - 12/5/19

Justin Timberlake

Huffington Post, 12/5/19 --

Not many people can say that pop singer Justin Timberlake had a direct impact on their life, but not many people are Vinesha Ramasamy.

When Ramasamy was 15, doctors told she would never walk again. The teenager from Mississauga, Ont. had osteosarcoma - the same bone cancer Canadian athlete Terry Fox had.

Treatments and surgeries resulted in scarring on her leg, physical marks that made her avoid wearing dresses and matched the emotional scars she carried.

Ramasamy's life changed when one of her favourite musicians decided he wanted to see her. Moved by her story, the former *NSYNC member got in touch with Ramasamy and arranged a meet-up while he was on the Canadian leg of his North American tour.

"That really changed the trajectory for me," she said.

Watch the video [here] to see how Justin Timberlake inspired Ramasamy to advocate for other cancer survivors and embrace her appearance.

Justin Timberlake Apologizes to Wife Jessica Biel After 'Strong Lapse in Judgment' - 12/4/19

PEOPLE, 12/4/19 --

Justin Timberlake is breaking his silence after he was seen holding hands with his costar, Alisha Wainwright.

The singer and actor, 38, shared an apology to his wife of seven years, Jessica Biel on Instagram Wednesday night, writing, "I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family, I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love."

He continued, "A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment - but let me be clear - nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better."

"This is not the example I want to set for my son," Timberlake added. "I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be."

"This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it," he concluded.

Timberlake and Biel, 37, married in 2012 in a romantic ceremony in Italy after five years of dating. The pair share one son, Silas, 4.

The singer made headlines last month when he was spotted holding hands and sitting closely with his Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright. Timberlake was also with a group of friends at a bar in New Orleans in video and photos posted by The Sun.

In the footage, Wainwright, 30, can be seen resting her hand on his knee and the two appear to be holding hands.

However, a source with direct knowledge of the incident recently told PEOPLE that Timberlake and Wainwright's interactions that night was "completely innocent."

"It's a balcony with a group of people and it was definitely nothing happening," the source said. "He's down there shooting [his film] Palmer, they're starring in the movie together and they're cool and everybody was just hanging out."

How Joey Fatone and More Celebrities Convince Their Kids Santa Claus Is (Or Isn't) Real - 12/3/19

Kloey, Joey, and Briahna Fatone

Us Weekly, 12/3/19 --

Getting creative where it counts! Kristen Bell and other celebrity parents have gone to great lengths to convince their children that Santa is real - or to break the news to them that he isn't.

Joey Fatone, for example, tells his and his ex-wife Kelly Baldwin's children, Briahna, 18, and Kloey, 9: "'If you don't believe, you don't receive." He explained the strategy to Us Weekly exclusively in November, saying, "'If you believe in it, then you know that Santa will come. If you don't believe in it, Santa won't come.'"

Even though the former *NSYNC member's eldest found out the truth behind Saint Nicholas long ago, she keeps up the ruse for her younger sibling. "[Briahna] will still get some gifts from Santa and some gifts from Mom and Dad," the singer, 42, told Us. "Due to the fact that Chloe's nine, she's still involved in it so we want to make sure that [Briahna] is still doing it and keeping the tradition alive."

Since the teenager knew her parents would be "crushed" to find out she no longer believed, she kept that a secret to herself for awhile, Fatone admitted. "She was, like, 'Yeah, I went to the closet one day and I found the toys,'" the New York native told Us. "I go, 'Why didn't you tell us?' She goes, 'Well, I didn't want to ruin it for you.' ... She kind of slipped it out as she got older."

Joey Fatone Admits Coparenting Daughters With Ex-Wife Kelly Baldwin Is 'Not Bad' - 12/2/19

Joey Fatone and Kelly Baldwin

Us Weekly, 12/2/19 --

Joey Fatone and his ex-wife, Kelly Baldwin, are making their coparenting relationship work for daughters Briahna, 18, and Kloey, 9.

"It's one of those things where you take one step at a time," the former *NSYNC member, 42, recently told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting Heluva Good! Dairy Dip, noting that he and his high school sweetheart go "back and forth." He explained, "Sometimes we'll try to do things together, sometimes we won't, depending on where we are, what we're doing. A lot of times we'll switch on and off and it actually is not bad. ... It could get ugly, [but] that's not what we did."

The singer added, "We're like, 'Listen, you take this time, I'll take this time.' Sometimes we'll meet in the middle if it works. ... It's just like, 'Hey, we've known each other for so long. We've got to definitely make it exist together.' We've never been really, like, crazy or anything."

The former couple, who tied the knot in September 2004 after dating on and off for 10 years, even spent Halloween together, Fatone revealed. "We all went trick-or-treating," he told Us. "It [was] a lot of fun."

The Dancing With the Stars alum filed for divorce from Baldwin in May. He told Us exclusively the following month: "I was, at one point, married, and now I am separated, going through a divorce."

The Heluva Good! creator has been dating his current girlfriend, Izabel Araujo, for "five years now," he told Us last month. "[We're] doing very well."

That being said, the New York native admitted at the time that he and the Brazil native experience ups and downs like any couple. "We're at that stage where all of a sudden you're like, 'Hey, where do you want to eat?' 'I don't know, where do you want to eat?' 'I don't know, where do you want to eat?' 'I don't know!'" the former Family Feud announcer joked.

Justin Timberlake

channelguidemag.com, 12/2/19 --

Hopefully you all know by now that Ellen DeGeneres is one of the most generous, kindhearted, amazing people in show business. She deliberately leads by example, believing that in a world where there is so much negativity, it's important to lift people up.

When Ellen came to her team wishing to do more for people who really deserve it, they took her idea and ran with it. The result is a three-night, happy-tears TV special, where Ellen and a slew of her celebrity friends surprise people with life-changing gifts in Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways.

The show's format combines field and set segments, and features celebs like Michelle Obama, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Timberlake, Robert Downey Jr., Melissa McCarthy, Michael B. Jordan and many others.

In one of the set segments, Ellen gives a non-monetary gift that is equally as life-changing. "We found this family where the kids are huge fans of Justin Timberlake. And, oh gosh, I can't really talk about this one because I cry too much," Leman tearfully shares. "[Justin] surprised a family whose dad was diagnosed with ALS. He has three adult children and as a dad, of course, all you're going to worry about is what's going to happen later in life for your kids. So, Justin comes out and we get to show the dad that we're giving each of his kids something monumental that will change their lives. It was so awesome.

Director Walt Dohrn had no trouble tempting singer Justin Timberlake for the sequel to animation hit Trolls. The megastar can be heard again this spring as Troll Branch in Trolls World Tour, the sequel to the hit from 2016.

"We learned in the first film that the troll world is bigger than our world"

"We leave Justin very free during the recording," Walt explains. "He really likes to improvise; that is how his comic talent comes out best. We also let our actors come in early so that we can sometimes adjust scenes if they have great finds."

Moreover, Justin is an executive producer; in that capacity he has a big finger in the door when it comes to the music used in the film. "We learned in the first film that the troll world is bigger than our world," says Walt. "So there is still so much new to discover in that world. Trolls enjoy their music, but in the second part we learn that there are many different types of trolls that make different types of music: hip-hop trolls, hard rock trolls. Is it bad to be different? And can't we better focus on the things we have in common? "

The animator has already had a long career; he collaborated on hits such as Shrek, Spongebob Squarepants and Madagascar. But Trolls World Tour is the first time he has received a solo credit as a director. "I feel even more responsible than last time! Animation is of course teamwork, but one person must bear the final responsibility. If a film works well, it is a credit to hundreds of people; if a film flops, you can only address the director accordingly. "

But at the same time, Walt rarely had so much fun producing a film. "I have contact with all makers, with all the different departments. And you can challenge people to push boundaries; I try to challenge all cartoonists to make an even better film than last time." The Trolls 2 trailer was launched online this week.

Lance Bass Has a Strict Rule With His Husband About Christmas Decorations - 11/29/19

Lance Bass

Decider, 11/28/19 --

If you think your neighbors put up a pretty good Christmas light display, just wait until you see HGTV's new series, Outrageous Holiday Houses. And you're gonna want to see it, because not only are these homes incredible, but the show is hosted by Lance Bass himself. The new series follows the *NSYNC star as he travels across North America to check out some of the most inventive and impressive Christmas decorations displays you'll ever see. In fact, the first stop is the home to none other than Property Brothers star Drew Scott and his wife Linda Phan who turned their living space into a freakin' gingerbread house!

We here at Decider had to get the details on that one from Lance, as well as the agreement he has with his husband, Michael Turchin, when it comes to holiday decorations - oh, and the major addition he just won at an auction.

We're going to see some really impressive decorations on this show, but tell me a little bit about where you are on the holiday decorating scale. Do you do a lot outside? Do you do some inside? Do you go big or small, where are you there?

Well, I thought I did big until I did this show. Now I'm really second-guessing my choices in decorations, and I feel like I'm disappointing everyone now. When we were shooting this last February, HGTV came in and just decked out my house with the most insane, gorgeous Christmas decorations I'd ever seen. I actually had a tear running down my cheek because I was just so overwhelmed with how amazing it was. Then I got to sit in it for a good four days, enjoy it, pretend it was Christmastime again, and then they had to take it all down, and a major depression definitely set in when all that left. Now, I have all my Christmas decorations laid out in front of me in my living room, and I'm looking at it like, 'This doesn't even hold a candle to what this place looked like in February.'

Was there anything from these houses that you visited that you thought, 'I really need to incorporate this into my own decorating?'

One thing that I love is just lights in the trees. I've never done that before, I think it's so beautiful, but HGTV came in and did my trees and they left those here, which is awesome. So they've been on since February, they have not turned off. Yeah, I'm that neighbor, I'm that neighbor with Christmas lights on all year 'round [laughs].

Are they white lights or are they the colorful lights?

They're the white lights but the yellow-white ones, so it looks classy. It's not like red and green lights all over the place.

When you went to these different homes, did you listen to Christmas music on the way to get into the mood?

I actually did, yeah. Last year was a weird Christmas for me, I don't know why. I didn't really get into the holiday spirit until Christmas was over, for some reason. It hit me after the fact, which was so nice, to be able to do the HGTV show right after Christmas, because I was really in the mood. So yes, I would listen to Christmas music, it's just a magical time.

David Archuleta Enjoys a Very *NSYNC Christmas in Holiday Video Outtakes - 11/27/19

Variety, 11/27/19 --

David Archuleta is getting into the holiday spirit with his new cover of *NSYNC's "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays," and the "American Idol" Season 7 runner-up is giving Variety a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video, with outtakes featuring his good cheer-spreading co-stars Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick.

"It was a lot of fun," Archuleta says. "We had to edit out a lot of things that Chris was saying. He's just funny. I think he should be a stand-up comedian because he's just so quick with his remarks and how he improvises."

Kirkpatrick's sense of humor is apparent in the clip, as *NSYNC's Bass jokes with Archuleta about the "challenge" of portraying the character of "Lance Bass," while thanking the entertainer for "making our song sound good."

Not missing a beat, Kirkpatrick shoots Bass a look, quipping, "Like it didn't sound good in the first place? It was amazing. We had ("Different Strokes" star) Gary Coleman in the video!" Coleman famously portrayed an elf in the original clip.

Archuleta's latest album, a deluxe re-release of 2018's "Winter in the Air," also contains his covers of Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" and an a cappella version of "Still Still Still." He is currently on the road with his 2019 Christmas tour.

The *NSYNC cover has been "a fun little addition to the shows," says Archuleta, who gets audiences in the spirit by piping in Christmas carols sung by Johnny Mathis before he takes the stage. " I've done it on a couple shows on this Christmas tour so far. It's a moment where people can let loose a little bit," he said. "I make sure everyone gets up out of their seats and starts dancing with me. "

Lance Bass and HGTV go Christmas crazy in 'Outrageous Holiday Houses' special - 11/19/19

Lance Bass

TODAY, 11/18/19 --

If you think you've got a lot of work to do putting up your holiday decorations this year, HGTV and Lance Bass want to let you know that you ain't seen nothing yet.

In a shiny new holiday special set to air on HGTV on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, the former member of *NSYNC takes us on a tour of some of the most gloriously and brightly decorated homes you've ever seen.

"The thing I love about decorating for the holidays is the memories that come back as you're decorating," said Bass in an interview with TODAY. "When you're hanging ornaments on the tree, and one of them is the same ornament you've had since you were 10 years old, that brings back so many memories of an innocent time when all was happy and good in the world."

There's a visit to a home in Texas made to look like a Christmas candy land; in Pennsylvania, there's a 300-acre dairy farm with an exhibit that features a chicken coop-turned-post office that gets letters to Santa; in Arizona, there's a custom-built Santa train.

The show kicks off with HGTV's "Property Brothers: Forever Home" star Drew Scott (one of the show's executive producers) and his wife, Linda Phan, who've turned their home - inside and out - into a gingerbread house bakery complete with a moving toy conveyor belt and handmade candy decorations.

Does he really think Scott and Phan did all of that decorating in their spare time?

"I'd like to say that Drew and his wife definitely help," says Bass. "There's no way they could do it all themselves!"

Drake Claimed Justin Timberlake Was "So Close" To Being On 'Take Care' - 11/17/19

Justin Timberlake

Genius, 11/15/19 --

Drake's Take Care, which is celebrating its eighth anniversary on November 15, is a star-studded affair featuring the likes of Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, and André 3000. But according to a 2011 Billboard interview, there was one A-lister Drake couldn't get on the project: Justin Timberlake.

"I mean I really wanted to work with Justin Timberlake on this project," said Drake, to Billboard. "And we came so close man, so close. He's just super busy, and not in the music mindset right now as far as creating."

It's unclear if the song they were going to work on together appears on Take Care in a different form, but Drake stressed his desire to see Timberlake work with his producer and close friend, Noah "40" Shebib. There are rumors that the song was going to be titled "All Kinds," though neither artist has confirmed that.

"The song was gonna be dope," the rapper said of the track, which was reportedly set to be produced by 40. "It was solid, a solid little look. But he's so immersed in the acting thing, and I don't blame him, he's doing great at it. He was just like, 'I really want to work. I just can't do it right now. But we'll work as soon as I'm back in the studio.'"

Timberlake has been acting on and off throughout his career, but he was particularly busy in 2011, as he starred in three movies: Bad Teacher, Friends with Benefits, and In Time. However, in 2010, Timberlake did perform a medley at a charity show in Las Vegas that included a brief cover of Drake's "Over," which was co-written by 40.

"40 has so many ideas, and I'd love to hear an artist like Justin Timberlake to see what he and 40 could come up with," said Drake. "But that was the one person that I was sorta like, 'Damn!' but we'll get it though."

Joey Fatone Shares Hilarious Advice for Jennifer Lopez and Shakira Ahead of 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show - 11/17/19

Joey Fatone

Us Magazine, 11/15/19 --

It's been 18 years since *NSYNC rocked the Super Bowl XXXV Halftime Show with Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Nelly, but it feels like just yesterday for Joey Fatone. So, the former boy bander shared some sound advice for Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, who are set to headline the 2020 gig.

"It goes by fast. Literally, you blink and you're like, 'Oh, it's over! What just happened?'" Fatone, 42, told Us Weekly exclusively at this week's Dancing With the Stars taping. He jokingly added, "Don't suck."

While the Common Knowledge host is excited to watch Lopez, 50, and Shakira, 42, perform at the NFL championship game next February, he had another Miami-based performer in mind.

"Latin flavor, baby! They should've gotten Luis Fonsi, but I don't think he could do it," Fatone told Us of the Puerto Rican singer, 41, who is best known for his 2017 megahit "Despacito" with Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber. "He's my boy."

Justin Timberlake Recruits Kelly Clarkson, Anderson .Paak, SZA & More for 'Trolls World Tour' Soundtrack - 11/17/19

Billboard, 11/14/19 --

Justin Timberlake will not only reprise his role as Branch in Trolls World Tour -- the all-star sequel to the 2016 film Trolls, which will hit theaters April 2020 -- but he will also be serving as the executive music producer for Trolls World Tour (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The worlds of music combine not only in the film but on the soundtrack too, as Mary J. Blige, George Clinton and Anderson .Paak represent the land of Funk and Kelly Clarkson hails from Country.

Other stars contributing new music to the project include Anna Kendrick (who plays fellow main character Poppy), SZA and Chris Stapleton. Timberlake produced the soundtrack alongside Grammy- and Oscar-winning composer/producer Ludwig Gя┐╜ransson while writing and performing new music.

Trolls World Tour (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) follows the highly successful soundtrack for the original Trolls movie, another production of the *NSYNC alum. The soundtrack peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 (chart dated Nov. 26, 2016) and notched a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling!"

The soundtrack will be available March 2020 via RCA Records, and it's available for pre-order here.

Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick Join David Archuleta for 'Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays' Video - 11/17/19

Entertainment Tonight, 11/14/19 --

David Archuleta is putting his own spin on *NSYNC's classic 1998 holiday hit, "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays."

The 28-year-old singer covers the beloved tune for the deluxe edition of his Christmas album, Winter in the Air, which hit shelves on Thursday. In the music video, *NSYNC members Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick make a hilarious cameo when they attempt to get into Archuleta's house party, although the doorkeeper -- who's wearing an *NSYNC Christmas sweater -- is not having it.

"Look, we're cool. We're fly," Bass says. "We know how to party."

Luckily, Archuleta shows up just as the two are about to get the door shut in their faces.

"I was so stoked that Lance and Chris were willing to make an appearance in my video of their song that's becoming a classic Christmas song," Archuleta says of the new music video. "I wasn't sure if they'd say yes, but I'm so glad that they were up for it and having some fun. It's meant to be cheesy and light, and I hope people will get a kick watching it."

Meanwhile, 48-year-old Kirkpatrick and 40-year-old Bass were happy to participate.

"It's an honor to have David's incredible voice cover this iconic song," Bass says. "Shooting this was so fun, but now I will have this earworm of a song in my head for the next six months. Thanks, David."

Kirkpatrick adds, "Everyone was so much fun to work with. It was great to relive this song and do it with one of my best friends on the planet, Lance."

Anderson .Paak Talks Recording With Justin Timberlake - 11/17/19

Justin Timberlake

Essence, 11/14/19 --

Anderson .Paak has recorded with some of hip-hop's greats-Dr. Dre, the late Mac Miller and our girl, Rapsody. But there's one studio session that he's never spoken about ... until now.

When .Paak hopped in the studio with Justin Timberlake to work on tracks for the forthcoming soundtrack for Trolls World Tour, in theaters April 17, the California native had no idea how much of a master class it would be, calling the experience "sick" (in a good way of course).

"You could tell he came up under Timbaland and shit because I was like, 'Hey, let's put this little sound in here, like a little swoop sound.' He's like, 'Oh nah, I can do that with my mouth. Schwoop! And he went in the booth and did it.'"

.Paak said he joked, "What are you like Timberland's little brother?!"

The soundtrack, which will be available for streaming next March, also includes some of our favorite artists, including Mary J. Blige, George Clinton and SZA.

Joey Fatone explains his pant-splitting 'Dancing With the Stars' wardrobe malfunction - 11/17/19

Joey Fatone

USA TODAY, 11/12/19 --

Joey Fatone made instant impact with his guest appearance on "Dancing With the Stars" Monday night, splitting his pants on live TV while performing an impressive split off the stage to kick off the show.

You had to be looking really hard at the video (OK, it's at the 2 minute, 38 second mark), because Fatone continued with the routine after the split, sprinting past the camera and taking his seat as a guest judge for Boy Band/Girl Group night.

But it was a substantial wardrobe malfunction, Fatone admitted to USA TODAY after the show while wearing a replacement pair of cut-off sweat pants.

"I literally ripped the pants from the front to the back," said Fatone. "And then I just sat in the judge's chair and said, 'Oh well, you didn't notice it."

But we did. So did host Tom Bergeron, who had the best view in the house. He spotted the incident, and then proceeded to tease Fatone about it throughout the show.

Fatone told us that he had not counted on excessive movement during the show when he put on the snug tuxedo capri pants that "fit on the waist."

"But I didn't think I'd be dancing with them," said Fatone. Nor did he expect to be leaping about. But he got inspired by the return to "DWTS," where he was the Season 4 runner-up.

"Then I decided to do a split off the stairs," said Fatone. "That was a dumb idea because I went, 'I'm going to rip these pants. It's going to happen.' "

It did happen. That's ballroom dancing on live TV, folks.

Fatone recalled that during his first ever performance on the show, he had a badly placed microphone attached to his back, which came lose during his premiere dance.

"I ripped, pulled it out, and just kept on going," he said. "Every time I get on this stage it's something."

Joey Fatone Says *NSYNC Is 'Toying' With Idea of a Reunion - 11/12/19

*NSYNC

Entertainment Tonight, 11/12/19 --

An *NSYNC reunion isn't out of the question!

ET caught up with Joey Fatone following his guest-judging stint on Dancing With the Stars on Monday, and the former boy band member revealed that he and the other guys -- Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick -- have thought about reuniting. The idea was first broached, Fatone said, after the boy band -- minus Timberlake -- reunited for a performance with Ariana Grande at Coachella back in April.

"I think that's when it really was kinda a lot stronger because I was with my fellas and stuff," Fatone explained of the desire to reunite following Coachella. "We were excited, but it was Ariana's show. So we were just like, 'Hey, we're coming in, having a great time.' And that's what we did. We had a blast doing it 'cause it was, like, two songs, let's have fun, no stress on us."

Fatone went on to call the band's Coachella performance "interesting," adding that it made him "relive things in back in your head, about back in the day, when you used to tour and stuff like that."

"So, I say never say never," he said of a potential reunion, before adding that he has "no clue" if it'll ever come to fruition.

"When we did the Coachella one, I mean, there's talks about possibly toying with the idea," Fatone shared. "But we really don't know... I'm only one [member]. There's others."

Joey Fatone Says He and Girlfriend Izabel Araujo Are 'Doing Very Well' Amid His Divorce From Kelly Baldwin - 11/12/19

Joey Fatone

Us Weekly, 11/12/19 --

Lucky in love. Joey Fatone and his longtime girlfriend, Izabel Araujo, are stronger than ever after he filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Kelly Baldwin, in May. Fatone, 42, happily spoke about his partner after joining the judges table on the November 11 episode of Dancing With the Stars.

"Yeah! Still with her, five years now. Doing very well," the *NSYNC star told Us Weekly and other reporters on Monday night. The "Tearin' Up My Heart" singer began dating Araujo in October 2014 after separating from Baldwin, and spent their first date at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, returning each year since to celebrate their anniversary.

Fatone attended the Critics' Choice Awards with the Brazil native in June, where he revealed to Us exclusively that he was going through a divorce.

The former DWTS contestant and Baldwin, 42, a screenwriter, married in September 2004 after 10 years of on-off dating. Though the pair have been quietly separated for years, Fatone forcefully shut down rumors of a divorce in 2013, saying in an interview with Omg! Insider that he was "deeply upset" about the stories.

After handing out harsh critiques on Monday's episode of DWTS, Fatone opened up about his steady romance with Araujo, admitting that they still have their ups and downs like any couple.

"We're at that stage where all of a sudden you're like, 'Hey, where do you want to eat?' 'I don't know, where do you want to eat?' 'I don't know, where do you want to eat?' 'I don't know!'" the former *NSYNC star joked.

Joey Fatone Split His Pants During 'DWTS' - 11/12/19

Woman's Day, 11/12/19 --

In honor of the boy band and girl group theme on this week's episode of Dancing With the Stars, the show welcomed a very fitting guest judge: former DWTS contestant and *NSYNC member, Joey Fatone.

Of course, the former boy band member couldn't resist jumping on the dance floor - literally. Fatone danced to a part of the opening routine set to *NSYNC's "Tearin' Up My Heart." But things didn't exactly go to plan when the former boyband performed a split jump that lead to him splitting his pants mid-air.

Fatone got called out on the pant split by host Tom Bergeron, who encouraged viewers who had taped the episode to go back and pause on the moment that Fatone jumped in the air. At that point, Fantone confirmed that his pants were, in fact, split. Thankfully the video of the dance has been put up on Youtube, and we skipped right to the infamous moment (at 2:28) and got the screen grabs that show the split in action.

Some astute fans of the ballroom competition show took to Twitter to talk about the wardrobe their malfunction, and they could not contain how hilarious they found the whole situation.

Justin Timberlake plays jail-bird janitor Eddie Palmer as he starts first day of filming on 'Palmer' - 11/8/19

Justin Timberlake

Daily Mail, 11/7/19 --

Justin Timberlake morphs into assistant school janitor Eddie Palmer as first day of filming begins for his new movie, Palmer, in New Orleans.

Stylists dressed the 38-year-old actor-singer in a blue work shirt that he wore over a white T-shirt plus matching blue pants and heavy boots. A blue cap covered his shorn hair and he sported a thick beard and mustache when he was spotted on the outdoor set on Wednesday. Justin also had a large scar above his eye, suggesting that all may not be going well for his character.

Eddie has just come out of jail after serving 10 years for attempted manslaughter and the former high school football star is now living with his grandmother, Vivian.

Her neighbor is a beautiful meth addict and mom to seven-year-old Sam who likes to play with dolls and dress up as a girl.

Lance Bass Explores the Outer Fringes of Holiday Decorating in HGTV's 'Outrageous Holiday Houses' - 11/8/19

HGTV, 11/5/19 --

When it comes to decorating for the holidays, there's outrageous, then there's outrageous. We're talking here about the kind of extreme tinsel and over-the-top holiday lights that might make Martha Stewart cringe but make Clark Griswold envious.

And when it comes to outrageous, Lance Bass knows a thing or two. He's eager to share his yuletide enthusiasm with the world at large. "HGTV is stepping into Christmas with some of the most outrageous displays you've ever seen," says Lance. "We're going to meet the most dedicated and obsessed Christmas fans around and, as a huge Christmas fan, I'm excited."

It's all there in a new HGTV special Outrageous Holiday Houses, airing Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, at 11 p.m. ET/PT. As part of the special, Lance spotlights some of the most holiday-festive places in the world including Santa Claus, Indiana, and North Pole, Alaska.

"Stringing the lights and trimming the tree is a favorite tradition for many families, but there are some who take it to an entirely new level," said Jane Latman, president, HGTV. "HGTV set out to find the most incredible, over-the-top holiday displays in Outrageous Holiday Houses and, with Lance's help, we did."

To get things started, the special kicks off with Drew Scott, star of HGTV's Property Brothers: Forever Home, and his wife Linda Phan in their Los Angeles home. The couple transforms their historic home into a whimsical gingerbread house just in time to welcome family for the holidays. With edible delights galore, an ascending toy conveyor belt and handmade candy decorations adorning the exterior, Drew and Linda leave no corner untouched in their winter wonderland.

Visions of sugar plums are everywhere as Lance's tour of the most awe-inspiring holiday houses takes him across the country and into Canada. In Dallas, Texas, a grand home is decked out to look like a Christmas Candyland, while in Bernville, Pennsylvania, a 300-acre dairy farm boasts a sprawling exhibit featuring a chicken coop/post office that receives hundreds of letters to Santa. Lance also takes viewers to a custom-built Santa train in Phoenix, Arizona, a three-story dazzling display in Alexandria, Virginia, and an elf's playground in Toronto, Canada.

For more, fans can visit HGTV.com/OutrageousHolidayHouses to see photo galleries and exclusive video content. Fans also can interact on social media using #HGTVHoliday. Outrageous Holiday Houses will be available on demand across all platforms and on HGTV GO starting Thursday, Nov. 28.

Jessica Biel says her *NSYNC Halloween costume was all Justin Timberlake's idea - 11/8/19

TODAY, 11/5/19 --

Jessica Biel drew raves by dressing up as husband Justin Timberlake from his *NSYNC years for Halloween. As it turns out, he was the brains behind the operation.

"This was his idea," Biel said on Monday night's episode of "The Late Late Show with James Corden" when Corden showed a picture of her dressed as her hubby and Timberlake dolled up as her microphone. "This was all his idea. 'You're gonna do this.'"

Biel, who was joined on "The Late Late Show" by actress Natasha Lyonne, also said the outfit was authentic, unbeknownst to Timberlake.

"I was working in New York, so I literally was flying back on Halloween night," explained the "Limetown" actress, who unveiled the costume at the Casamigos Halloween Party in Beverly Hills a few days before Halloween.

"I had missed my flight and the whole crew of all of our friends being the band members were waiting on me to get there and I was late, so my friends threw my outfit in the car," said Biel, who was embarrassed last month after a 1999 video of her saying she didn't like *NSYNC resurfaced. "I went from the airport, I changed in the car, but I surprised Justin because I remembered we have that exact jumpsuit that he wore in storage. So, I pulled it out and it was the real one. It's for real. It's the real jumpsuit."

"It's absolutely sensational," said Corden, who was stunned that Timberlake was responsible for the costume.

"So, this was his idea?" he asked.

"Yeah, his idea," Biel said.

"I just can't imagine my wife's face if I went, 'You know what you should dress as? Me!" Corden joked, eliciting laughs from Biel and Lyonne. "She would divorce me so fast. She would divorce me in a heartbeat."

We can only guess that Biel and Timberlake are just a little bit more *NSYNC than Corden and his wife.

'Dancing With the Stars' Will Have a Spice Girl and *NSYNC Member as Guest Judges - 11/4/19

Entertainment Tonight, 11/4/19 --

The Dancing With the Stars judging table is getting a little bigger next week.

For the first time ever, the ABC reality competition will feature two guest judges, with Joey Fatone and Emma Bunton joining the team to help Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli judge next week's special Boy Bands vs. Girl Bands edition of the show.

DWTS alum Ginger Zee shared the news on Monday's Good Morning America. Fatone competed on Dancing with the Stars season four, earning second place. His fellow *NSYNC member, Lance Bass, came in third on DWTS season seven. While Bunton hasn't competed on the show, her fellow Spice Girls member, Mel B, placed second on season five.

Monday's episode of DWTS is Dance-Off Week, with the remaining seven couples performing one unlearned dance, and participating in a dance-off for extra points. Because he reached the top of last week's leaderboard and holds the highest average of the season thus far, James Van Der Beek and his partner, Emma Slater, earned immunity from the dance-off -- but they don't have immunity from elimination.

Karamo Brown and his partner, Jenna Johnson, were shockingly eliminated last week. Van Der Beek, Ally Brooke, Hannah Brown, Kate Flannery, Kel Mitchell, Sean Spicer and Lauren Alaina are the celebs left in the competition.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Justin Timberlake

kpel965.com, 10/31/19 --

Justin Timberlake is filming a movie in New Orleans. The pop star, who released a new album last year, is making a return to the silver screen.

Timberlake hasn't appeared in a film since "Wonder Wheel" in 2017. The new film, "Palmer", will be filmed on the Northshore and Timberlake will play the lead role. The filming is scheduled to begin in New Orleans in early November.

The producers of "Palmer" must have a special love for Louisiana. They produced the movie "Green Book", which was also filmed in Louisiana and won an Oscar for "Best Picture".

The drama is about Eddie Palmer (Timberlake) who is a former high-school football star. He is also an ex-con returning home after a prison sentence. As he deals with many difficulties from his past after he moves back home, he and a young boy become friends and eventually Palmer finds himself caring for the young boy whose mother abandoned him.

The movie has been described as an emotional and entertaining story about resilience and the power of human kindness.

Jessica Biel Dressed Up as Justin Timberlake in *NSYNC for Halloween - 10/27/19

People, 10/26/19 --

Jessica Biel just revealed her hilarious Halloween costume - and it's a nod to her husband!

On Friday night, the actress channeled Justin Timberlake's *NSYNC years while attending the star-studded Casamigos Halloween party in Beverly Hills, hosted by Casamigos founders Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman.

Biel, 37, stole the show in a metallic '90s-inspired jumpsuit, white sneakers, tiny blue sunglasses, diamond earrings and, of course, a wig that resembled her husband's short curls during his time in the iconic boy band.

Meanwhile, Timberlake, 38, who was one of the lead vocalists of *NSYNC from the band's beginnings in 1995 until it ended in 2002, attended the bash alongside his wife dressed as a microphone - another nod to his *NSYNC era.

Timberlake and Biel were also joined by four male friends who dressed up as the other members of *NSYNC. A source tells PEOPLE that the group kept it moving on the dance floor until late into the night.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's Son Is Probably Not Headed for Olympic Skiing - 10/24/19

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

E! Online, 10/24/19 --

It doesn't sound like Silas Timberlake has his heart set on Olympic skiing anytime soon.

As Jessica Biel explained on Late Night With Seth Meyers, her 4-year-old son with Justin Timberlake wasn't such a fan of the sport when his celebrity parents introduced him to it when he was just a toddler.

"We tried I think too early," she told Seth Meyers.

"I've seen videos of 2 1/2-year-olds enjoying..." Meyers responded.

"So have I," Biel quipped. "Not my kid."

She recalled, "He was just like, 'What, what, what is this?' And then you put the skis on and he was like, 'Really? Seriously? I can't even move in this giant...I'm covered in down.' He was not excited about it."

"I do feel like if you have a bad first experience with something, that will set you back a decade," the host said.

"Yeah, I'm worried," Biel admitted.
