Eisenberg, Timberlake and Garfield Cast in David Fincher's The Social Network - 9/3/09

/Film, 9/3/08 --

Carson Reeves has heard that not only has David Fincher begun casting on the big screen adaptation of The Social Network, but that the cast might already be set. Rumor has it that Jesse Eisenberg has signed to play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (how perfect is that casting?), Andrew Garfield is set to play Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and Justin Timberlake will play internet entrepreneur Sean Parker (Napster).

If true, this is shaping up to be a very solid cast, but what else would you expect from a Fincher production? I don't normally like Timberlake, but anyone who knows the story for the film or has read the book will know he's the perfect person to play Parker. Garfield broke onto the scene with a Award-winning performance in Boy A, and has since appeared in Lions for Lambs, The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Last month we learned that Columbia Pictures had given the film an official greenlight, a rumored $47 million budget, and that production will begin in October with scouts actively searching for film locations in Cambridge and Boston.

Based on Ben Mezrich's book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, The Social Network tells the story of Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg, the founders of Facebook. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin, and the 162-page first draft has been described as "Unpredictable, Funny, Touching and Sad."

Justin Timberlake To Star In Guy Ritchie Film? - 7/3/09

The Sun, 7/1/09 --

Justin Timberlake has given Guy Ritchie his word that he will star in one of the Lock Stock director's next big film projects.

The pair shook hands over a whisky at the Punch Bowl pub in Mayfair on Monday night after discussing the blockbusters Guy has on the horizon.

The list includes a big-screen version of musical Guys And Dolls which would suit Justin perfectly as well as a huge remake of the classic war film Wild Geese.

And I have no doubt big studios like Warner Bros, who work closely with Guy, would be more than happy to sign a fat cheque for Justin's services.

He would be a nailed-on box office hit if he had the chance.

A source said: "Work is really taking off for Guy at the moment and he is lining up talent for projects in the pipeline.

"Guy and Justin have known each other for a while through Guy's ex-missus Madonna.

"Guy rates Justin as an actor. He thought he was impressive in Alpha Dog. He likes his personality.

"Justin would be ideal for Guys And Dolls because he can act, dance and sing.

"He would be a great box office draw into the bargain, as well as a safe bet to sell the soundtrack."

Justin has proved his acting credentials with a leading role in Alpha Dog back in 2006.

And his comedy role as Jacques "Le Coq" Grande in Love Guru was pretty impressive too.

Justin Timberlake Being Pressured To Have Babies With Jessica Biel - 6/10/09

FOXNews.com, 6/10/09 --

If Jessica Biel wants to hold off on having children, she might want to steer clear of boyfriend Justin Timberlake's mother.

An eyewitness tells FOXNews.com that Timberlake's mother, Lynn Harless, was outside a party saying she doesn't want to be an "old grandmother" and is pushing her son to get on with procreating, already.

Harless said she was 20 when she had Justin, and that being a young mother is ideal because you have "so much more energy," and added that Justin's career was so successful, he had the opportunity to focus now on "other things."

Like children.

But it sounds like Biel, 27, is not on the same page as Harless when it comes to starting a family. The actress told this month's issue of Allure that she has "no idea" if she wants to get married and has still has "a lot to do, careerwise."

Biel can also take solace in Justin's response to his mother's proddings. Harless told her friends that Justin, 28, tells her to "cut it out," whenever she brings up kids.

Harless also told her pals that Jessica and Justin and are getting more serious about tying the knot and she respects them for wanting to do things "right."

She just wishes they'd do things "right" a little faster, and with some little kiddies running around them while they do it.

Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel "Have Not Split" - 4/20/09

Us Magazine, 4/20/09 --

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are still going strong, two sources tell Usmagazine.com.

"They have not split," the first pal tells Us of the couple, who went on a getaway to Vail, Colorado earlier this month.

Rumors spread they called it quits after it was reported Timberlake "was very much acting like a single guy" at Kate Hudson's 30th birthday party over the weekend, which Biel did not attend.

"Things are very good with them," another source tells Us. "They do things separately sometimes."

The pair -- who began dating after Timberlake split from Cameron Diaz in 2007 -- recently bought an apartment in NYC.

"The apartment is great," the singer's mother, Lynn Harless, recently told Us. "He's loving it!"

Timberlake & Biel Eye Summer Wedding? - 3/11/09

contactmusic.com, 3/9/08 --

Pop star Justin Timberlake is planning to wed his longtime girlfriend Jessica Biel in a romantic ceremony in Italy this summer (09), according to reports.

The couple has been dating since 2007 and is rumoured to be engaged after the singer was spotted shopping for diamond rings at a jewellery store in New York recently.

And the pair, both 27, is now said to be eyeing a European venue for the nuptials, after attending a friend's wedding in Italy last October (09).

A source tells British newspaper Metro, "They both like the idea of marrying in Italy in the summer.

"Justin was really taking his time looking round the rings. He made the staff get a couple out of the cabinets so he could properly look at them."

Timberlake has previously dated actress Cameron Diaz and singer Britney Spears.

Alternative electro producer Jimmy Edgar to produce Justin's new album! - 2/24/09

The Prophet Blog, 2/23/09 --

Some interesting new info has just leaked regarding pop mega-star Justin Timberlake's new album. In a new blog entry posted on Everythings Chemical by alternative artist Jimmy Edgar, Edgar claims he is working on the new JT record. "After my tour im taking a trip to work on Justin Timberlakes new album" ends the blog entry.

If this is true it certainly means that JT must be looking to try a new sound for his upcoming third studio album. It doesn't surprise me though, since he really pushed the boundaries with his last release and shocked everybody, so why should this album be any different?

As for Jimmy Edgar himself, Wikipedia describes him as "a Detroit-based electronic music artist, influenced mostly by jazz, funk street beat & R&B." You can check out one of his songs [here], which hopefully will give us more of an idea on the type of sound JT is going for on the new record. Enjoy!

Justin Timberlake, Rob Pattinson, Zac Efron to Star In New Movie - 1/30/09

Hollyscoop, 1/29/09 --

Girls of every age will automatically love this movie. We don't even need to tell you the storyline yet. Because the hook is that Justin Timberlake, Rob Pattinson, and Zac Efron are all in the movie. That's one smart casting director.

Rumor has it the three heartthrobs will be cast members in the upcoming movie Ohio, which is based on the 1970 murders of anti-Vietnam War protesters at Kent State University.

A little dark, no? The only one of those three we could definitely see in the movie is Rob Pattinson, thanks to Twilight. And maybe that's what the casting director thought too. Because word on the street is that Rob's been asked to play the lead role. Justin and Zac, who are definitely the bigger stars in the grand scheme of things, would play second fiddle to Rob.

An insider reports to Star magazine, "Everyone in the industry is shocked that Rob is already getting such big roles. Zac and Justin have been working for a lot longer than he has. There is a bit of jealousy there. Zac's people want him to have the lead. And Justin's people have asked that he get a lot of screen time."

So it's not just the actresses who get into catfights! Rob may have been around the block as many times as Zac, and certainly JT, but he definitely is the best actor of the three. Sometimes it's not about the name either! There's something about having a lesser-known actor playing a lead role sometimes that makes the movie more exciting and less predictable. We'll just have to wait and see if Rob takes the lead, and if JT and Zac can put their pride aside to take the smaller roles for the sake of making a god movie!
